Best Keanu Reeves Film? What is it about him? That works?

It's hard to say why I like him. I like him a lot though, besides Lake House

I thought he did a very interisting role in Constantine. He had his tipical charachter about him but for me it just seemed to workd for the character he was doing. I din't care for him in the matrix but I love the char of Neo. However NO one else could have played it though. He was ok in the Lake house. As far as others don't care for him as an actor of course he did well in "the day tyhe eartyh stood still (IMO)

You're kidding? You'd better get on that. The best acting he's ever done.

He had better presence in Matrix (1999). But Speed was his best performance.

Keanu pretty much doesn't act, he's always Keanu, but his characters work a lot better when they are tailored to him, or a lot like him.

He is not exactly known as a master thespian

but I thought he was good in THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE, SPEED, and his
best performance was in THE GIFT as an abusive husband-- he was actually
menacing in that film-- well worth a look!

Matrix and Matrix Reloaded. And Bruce, wouldn't it make more sence to say: "What is it about him that works?" Instead of: "What is it about him? That works?" It's a commen theme I've detected from all of your threads/posts.

I don't like to pick on easy targets , but I just can't get into his roles. All I see is Keanu Reeves acting and if I am able to seperate the actor from the character I can't suspend disbelief. It just doesn't work for me.

I think that a matter of perspective needs to be taken in distinguishing between his best film and his best performance. For myself...

Constantine is his best performance.

The Matrix is the best film that he has been in.
