Talking Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)

I am a huge fan of Bill and Ted, and have been waiting for a third film for a very long time. It would be a strange move career wise for Keanu, but really the guy makes such terrible movies anyways why not make one the fans really wanna see? I'm sure Alex Winter is available anyways, last I heard he worked maintenance at a theme park. Click the picture for the original story and video from what they are talking about.

Quote:
Before he knew kung-fu Keanu Reeves was saving the world by forming a band that would provide the music for all future generations. It has been rumored for quite some time that we would be seeing a third installment of what would then be considered a franchise, but nothing has come to fruition as of yet.

Last night MTV was on the red carpet and during their chat with Keanu, suggested that they "greenlight a "Bill and Ted" sequel right now" to which he responds with "Im Trying". Josh Horrowitz tells him that he "cant tell if you're joking or not" and Keanu says "I'm not" and "We'll see".

Its been 19 years since we have last seen Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters as the rocking, world saving duo in "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey", but that hasnt seemed to stop other sequels from happening. If it did happen they would have to figure out what to do with the Rufus character as played by the late great George Carlin, not to mention the fact that both Alex and Keanu look incredibly older.

Was Keanu just so excited to be at the Oscars and presenting an award to the director that helped make him relevant to begin with that he was willing to greenlight anything? Would he also have agreed to a "Point Break" or "Youngblood" sequels just because people were paying attention to him again? Does the world REALLY need another "Bill and Ted"? What do you think?

It's been so long I think it would flop, I would give a third one a go if the trailer looked incredible. 19 years could be overcome through writing, they could just pretend the future they mentioned in the first 2 movies has already come to pass.

I'd tend to agree with you that it's been so long, I think it would very hard to 'resurrect' the series, but for what its worth, I'd be there day 1 to find out Bill and Ted's were some of my absolute favorite movies as a kid.

I still have my set of Bill and Ted collectors cards!!

Not to mention, considering the mindset of today's teenagers, who just as they always have over the last 40 years, love to get high off their asses and see something that looks stupid. These kids today could easily be tricked into seeing Bill and Ted, cause they always seemed like stoners themselves. But the funny part being, if you ever paid attention to the way they really spoke they often used very large words correctly, and seemed like very smart guys, who just happened to have smoked a lot of weed offscreen, lol. Bill and Ted Returns would be the much smarter less disgusting version of Harold and Kumar. Shit humor just don't do it for me, and Bill and Ted never had to reply on such retarded humor.

keanu will have to go and search for alex winter, it will be long and arduous, after many weeks he will finally find him in a cave somewhere with a long beard, wearing tattered rags...

...at first Alex will be scared and hesitant "who is it?!?! who's there?!!" as he squints at the backlit figure standing at the entrance of the cave....the figure slowly walks towards Alex, he grips his knees and starts rocking in anticipation of the usual beatings and sexual abuses he has suffered at the hands of various high school kids and bears...his eyes zone out, he goes to his happy place and then he hears it....the sweetest sound and words he has ever heard....."Dude, it's me...it's time to go home to hollywood.."

is it a dream?...NO! his eyes light up, focusing on a much older and puffier faced Keanu reaching out to him like a golden glowing god of hope!

Alex bows his head grabs keanu around the knees and starts weeping..."oh! the suffering...oh, the emotional pain!"

Keanu says gently "it's ok brah, it's ok...let it out man. I'm here now"

Keanu sweeps his scurvy ridden emaciated body up like a child and whisks him away to a waiting limo....

"and here we are at the Oscars..."

Alex Winter has been directing theater and TV. He did all the Ben10 live action movies for Cartoon Network (among a bunch of other things)

Really? That's awesome! I swear I heard a few years back he really had been working maintenance somewhere. I'm glad he's been doing good, I always liked him from The Lost Boys, to Freak and of course Bill and Ted. Always wondered why Keanu never brought him into any of his projects after that though, was he just being a dick about his success or does Alex no longer wish to do mainstream, is my biggest question.

Holy crap he came out of retirement for an episode of Bones 3 years ago?? I gotta search that out!

Quote:
Winter works between his American home base and London, where he directs music videos and commercials. Highlights of his work include directing several installments of the popular Peugeot Thelma & Louise campaign, as well as campaigns for Ford, the global launch of the all CGI Tony the Tiger for Frosties, and award-winning spots for Supercuts and Google in the US.

In 2007, Winter returned to acting after a nearly 14-year absence to do a guest spot on the crime series Bones. Currently, he has a recurring role as the voice of 'King Mole Man' on the Adult Swim show, Saul of the Molemen, which was created by long-time friend Tom Stern, and has directed the live-action adaptation of the hit Cartoon Network series Ben 10, which aired in November 2007 and garnered the highest ratings in Cartoon Network history. Recently, he directed its sequel, Ben 10: Alien Swarm which aired on Cartoon Network in November of 2009 and captured over 16 million viewers in its premiere weekend. He has reportedly been tapped to write the Howard Stern-produced remake of Rock 'n' Roll High School.

Don't know about this, without the original cast member missing it would be a hard replacement.

I say they should 'go for it'!

Who to replace the late Mr. Carlin though? That would be the toughest...

Ian McKellen could totally do it, he even kind of looks like Carlin. Could and will are two different things though.

Why couldn't Rufus has died? Unless they are interacting with the future again, which is a strong possibility, why recast? Just let it be known that Rufus has passed on while rocking out.

It'd be great, but I don't believe it. The aliens who control Keanu's brain are responsible for those answers.

LOL. Talk about the farthest thing away from Carlin (in all aspects) as you can get.

Wow... this is the one piece of news that I thought I would NEVER hear from Hollywood. At least, not with Keanu Reeve's name attached to it. Specifically because of the horrendous problems that Keanu had with the Wachowski Bros. when filming the "building jump" scene in The Matrix.

The story goes that the Wachowski Bros. needed Neo to react to Morpheus' building leap with a piece of dialogue. Supposedly, they filmed for nearly two full days just trying to get Keanu's close-up reaction because Keanu absolutely refused to say "Woah" due to his "shame and embarassment" over the Bill & Ted films. Keanu apparently was that desperate that he tried every other possible reactionary piece of dialogue that he could think of, but without satisfaction to the Wachowski Bros. Finally, once he said the line, the Wachowski Bros. said it fit the character and the moment perfectly.

There was an awards (I can't remember which) where he parodied the whole situation. Keanu came out to present an award with someone. At one point, while making it obvious that he was reading a teleprompter, he stopped and started to seem to struggle. After a few seconds of indecision he just said, "I'm not saying that." And the little "skit" continued on like that surrounding him having to say "Woah" and not wanting to. His co-presenter just kept giving him a hard time and trying to get him to say it so that the award could be presented and the show could go on. But, he absolutely flat-out refused. I forget how that little bit ended, but I'm pretty sure the co-presenter ended up saying it instead of Keanu.
