Wow, the photoshopping on that cover is bonkers. Topher Grace looks like a young Rowan Atkinson.

Wow. I had almost given up on this getting released on blu-ray. It's such a wonderful, overlooked little movie. Part of me thought it would get a release from someone like Shout on their Select line.

Now, let's just hope it doesn't use the same transfer as the German blu, which I've read was pretty much a straight port of the HD-DVD and looked terrible.

It is still available on Best Buy and Walmart websites, seems just Amazon is not selling this one.

It's "Sold Out" on Best Buy. It's Backordered on DeepDiscount. It's $25 on Amazon through a different seller. It should also be noted this is LISTED as MOD at DeepDiscount. Available right now via Walmart, and allegedly ships almost immediately.

Got the new US blu-ray and checked it out - looks to be the same old transfer as the German release - soft, DNR, bad EE. And I confirm it is a MOD disc.

MOD as in Warners Blu Ray MOD or Blu Ray-R?

Just checking in with a review that I recently posted to the front page. While not exactly a top-tier disc, this is probably the best overall of the four Universal MOD Blu-rays I've reviewed thus far. (And to answer the previous question, they're all pressed discs and not BD-Rs.) Enjoy!

A reviewer for the hd dvd gave it two out of five stars even in the early days of hd dvd when folks were probably a lot more tolerant of image quality coming from dvd. From what I've gathered Universal generally recycles those transfers and adds a DTS-HD track instead of the old DD+.
