That kind of bleeping isn't "censorship", though, it's a deliberate comedic/artistic choice.

I haven't seen this yet so I don't know if that's the route they've gone, but it is a thing.

It's not as funny as the R-rated cut but it's a close second (with Super Duper Cut being neither super or duper - a distant third). Once Upon a Deadpool is also not a "clean" version as there is still plenty of violence and sex humor (including some jokes from Super Duper, only worked in much better), and so much bleeping that it's practically obscene just by implication.

I highly disagree. I think the Super Duper Cut is easily the best version, that cut even added a few scenes to flesh out of the Deadpool and Russel storyline.
Once Upon a Deadpool was decent but it’s definitely the worst of the three.

In all honesty, I'm quite interested to see this version, solely for the additions with Savage. Haven't seen them though.

Funny thing is I thought this was so all the kids who love Deadpool can actually see Deadpool, but no one seems to mention if this is something that is ok for kids to watch. All the reviews and general fanboys just talk about how neutered it is.

Given that he's 8, I would suggest you screen it first and then decide if it is appropriate for him to watch with you.

8 is a bit young. I think a lot of the jokes would probably go over their head. At the end of the day know your own kid, but personally I'd hold off until like 12-13.

Also, yes, bleeping is a comedic choice here. It's not so much "we have to do this" as "we really want to make this worse than if we had just dropped a few f bombs." Seriously, despite the PG-13, I would screen it before showing to anyone 15 or under.

As for OUAD vs SDC, I really felt like this was a cohesive film. SDC was more like 'hey, you already saw the best takes but here are some that are nearly as funny or at least different." By rebuilding the structure of the movie, new themes were created and the alt choices seemed to feed off of that.
