For the price, they are very good. Some of the subwoofers sold by Parts Express are designed by Dr. Hsu of Hsu Research.

You can also try these:

That is a good sub. There are over 100 reviews. Read them.

The BIC subs from Amazon are also very good. See the link that I added.

Yeah i was looking at the BIC America F12 12-Inch 450-Watt Front Firing Powered Subwoofer theres no reviews 2 it. Do you recommend it better than Dayton SUB-120 HT Series 12" 150 Watt Powered Subwoofer?

We have a BIC Subwoofer Owners Thread.

Also remember that the power ratings on the BIC subs are most probably the maximum watts and not the RMS watts. That is a bit misleading. According to BIC website, the RMS power is 150 watts:

http://www.bicamerica.com/showpage.p...pe=8&spkrID=84

Unfortunately, I don't have any personal experience with either sub. I have only heard good things about both of them.

If you really want to confuse yourself, you can also look the Polk subs:

I don't have any experience with Polk subwoofers. Read the Polk Subwoofer Owners Thread and ask them.

I would stay away from the Polk, personally. At that price range, either what BD mentioned, or a BIC H-100.

While it's slightly outside of your price range (it's $239 shipped) I can heartily recommend the PA-120, since I own it and have firsthand experience with it. Well built, nice looking, and capable of hitting the specs at 23/24db. There's a nice thread of owners over at AVSForum here and we have a thread here (though it's pretty much me and one or two other people who own one). If you have any questions about it let me know.
