Do yourself a big favor and get the Paradigm's. I recently had the RF-62's, RC-64, RS-52's. I then got the RF-63's. I happen to go into my local HT dealer and listened to some Paradigm Monitor 9's. See my sig now. It's not even a contest IMO and I had some of the top of the line Klipsch speakers.

The Reference are definately better than the Synergy but the Paradigm trump them both I think. Their 3-way design is just better.

Just try not to audition the Studio 100's from Paradigm for too long.
I have serious upgradeitis, but I just know that I've still got a fantastic sound and I need to live within my budget.

I have Paradigm Monitor 11v5's for fronts and Monitor 11v4's for rears - it's exceptional sounding in my living room. However, I long for the day I can upgrade to Studio 100's and maybe replace the rears with Studio 60's. Haha. My Servo 15v2 feels all along being the only reference speaker amidst all those Monitor lines (center is CC-370v4).

I hear you. I have Monitor 7' v3, CC 370'S v3 & Mini rears. I will get studio 100's one of these years. I am happy with my set up for movies though.

I have the RF-82's and i totally stand by them 100%. Those 2 alone kick out a nice amount of bass without even having to turn up the sub. That and they are crystal clear in sound reproduction. They go great with the RC-62 as well.

I am for Paradigm, don't like the horns on the Klipsch, i find them to be very harsh at loud volume.

I've heard Klipsch at a dealer in a sound room and was not impressed. They sounded harsh and had an echo to them. Not sure what series they were, they were close to the same size as my Paradigm monitor 11 v6 towers are. I'd go with Paradigm but listen to both and judge for yourself. Just make sure you compare comprable sizes. ie floorstanding vs floorstanding. And remember all the replys you're getting are purely opinion. You'll have to be the judge. Good luck and enjoy whatever you end up with...

WOW I have seen the rf 62s for 600 a pair or less. what sights are you looking at? I love my klipsch speakers and would recommend them in a heartbeat. Very clean and clear sound with great power at low volumes and they are some of the most efficient speakers on the market. the reference series speakers sound allot better than the synergy and you can get the rf62 (reference at 600 for the pair)

Is your set-up with a sub? If you are running with a sub I'd suggest looking at the monitor 7s.

I've have heard both the Klipsh and Paradigm head to head and the Klipsh didn't stand a chance. But again it's a personal choice your ears may love the Klipsh mine don't.

Top of the line that you see in stores....Their top line speakers are actually the Heritage and Palladium series. Reference is actually their mid level tier.

I have the Paradigm Monitor 11 V6 fronts, cc-390 v6 center, and mini monitor v5 rears. I demoed either the Klipsch RF-82 or 83 when I was shopping for Monitor 9s and the Paradigms won hands down. I also demoed the B&W 683, CM7, and CM9. Pound for pound, Paradigm is very hard to beat. My Dad swears by Klipsh, he has the La Scalas.

You should be able to get around 27% off the v5, as I just did with my minis and you may be able to swing 10% for the v6. I too am in an area with only 1 Paradigm dealer.

Your Dad swears by his Klipsch for a reason...they belong to the Heritage collection - very different from the RF line (I would actually choose La Scalas over a lot of speakers in the Paradigm line...until you hit the signature line - then its a different story). Your Dad basiclly has a K-horn that doesn't need to be corner loaded. I would pick LaScalas over anything in the Monitor series but I would be tossed at Studio 100's and as mentioned before - I would definately choose the Signature series Paradigms over the La Scalas (the bigger Signatures).

I've listened to both - just not at the same time. With the RF-62's I had side by side listen with Polk RtiA7's and I guess I know now what people say when they say a speaker sounds brighter, but I still liked them both - it was only a quick demo though and that was at Futureshop with a bit of noise in the background.

I ended up buying Paradigms being able to only compare them side by side with Sinclair Audio towers - I forget what model they were but the Paradigm Monitor 7's to me sounded much better.

I like the sound of the Klipsch Refs but I love my Paradigm Monitors

Has anyone actually heard the Palladium series? They are like $15,000 a pair.

Thank you! I'll eventually get a gallery up once we move into our new home later this year.

Yeah, I would LOVE to have a pair of S8v2's set up at home.
Of course if I could afford them I'd probably also be considering a pair of Magnepan's MG3.6 or Martin Logan Spires.

Tough choice. The S8's are definitely one of the most beautiful speakers I've seen in the sub-$10,000 category.

I will say it one more time.....Cost vs. functionality!

I easilly could have spent more money for my speakers as with most people that are talking themselves into beliveing the money they spent on a pair of floorspeakers was justified. I dont plan on opening a recording studio; I just honestly feel that most consumers if they were to go into a sound studio or demo room and sample several lines of speakers and only see the pricetag not the brand they might be surprised to find out the pricetag doesnt mean you get better quality in every situation, allot of this is simple marketing. (Bose is a perfect example.)

If you have no budget knock yourself out and spend the extra thousand dollars on a pair of speakers; but realize most higher end speakers can be adjusted and or calibrated to create the sound you are looking for by purchasing a better amplifier/reciever to translate the sound and upscale it.

So I would once again quick comparing what people say and find out what makes you happy. The money I spent was realistic and dont sound like poop as the last posting stated in comparison to his speakers. (over exageration)

There will always be something better and more money; just what are you really wanting to spend to get what you expect? My HT sounds fantastic and thats whats matters to me. I`m not rying to blow my house down or beak windows, just want great sound quality for a good price. Thats sounds great to me...Literally
