I currently have a crappy noname 1080i set, its 32", it sucks majorly, my tv stand is an ikea one that by measuring, is 41 inches across, 48 inches diagonal, just over 27 inches high

based off what I've seen from some tv's a 40" should fit in this perfectly, if anyone can recommend anything with everything listed and that would fit in my stand, you would win an invisicookie, you guys helped me get my badass onkyo surround rig too

thanks in advance
Don't worry about how big your stand is, just worry that it will hold the weight of your new tv. Check the load limit of your stand and the weight of your tv beforehand, otherwise you could end up with an expensive pile of junk.

Just my .02

BTW for a tv go with either a samsung or sony.

according to amazon's shipping weight, this is only 6 lbs heavier than the shipping weight of my old one, should be ok.

yeah at this rate and the fact that on amazon the only bad reviews are a few people who didnt have luck with shipping, its pretty much definite that im going with this one.

i just hope the price doesnt go up at all while i wait the next 10 days or so for my tax return to hit my bank. bahhhhh anticipation is killing me.

You're getting the 40" right? I just added my 40" Sammy to my home theater pics, check 'em out.

It should fit, but if not Sammy doesn't make 42" LCDs. they go from 40" straight to 46". Sony makes 42"ers though.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70103090

^ in black

its cased in so its more of an issue of fitting than anything, it says it only holds 27lb but that cant be true, my current tv is like 50lb and its been fine in there for almost a year, shipping weight difference according to amazon is like 6lbs

and ive measured once (seemed like itd be snug but would fit) and read online of people fitting a 40 in there.
