Default Thinking of purchasing LCD tv

Been watching blu ray movies on a computer 22inch monitor doing close to 1080p. Actually it downgrades it to 1050p if that makes sense. Anyway I was thinking of purchasing a Sony BRAVIA 40" LCD. The price got me exicited as it will cost about $US2200 with a 40gig ps3. At the official sony website its going for $2999

http://www.sony.com.au/homecinema/ho...?id=KDL40W3100

My question is this, is it worth it? I got about a month to think about it before the promotion ends. I am happy watching movies on my 22" but I know that I could increase my viewing plessure by a huge amount. Are they good tvs and is this deal actually cheap?

I don't know about prices in Australia, but I do know that is an incredible tv.
I have a 40" Sony Bravia lcd and couldn't be more pleased.

If you are looking at the XBR series they are very nice televisons, but the none XBR tvs are nice as well. If you have time before the deal ends wait a little bit because a better one could show up.

I love my samsung LNT-4665F. I think samsung and sony have the same quality if not samsung is better. The difference is the price. I wouldn't pay extra $500 or so to choose sony.

XBR all the way. If you can still find a xbr2 you can save a lot of money.

Look into the samsung 71 series, i talked my dad into the 52" and it is by far the best picture i've seen on a tv. Look it up online samsung 5271, it is a sleeper pick from all the CES's
