I am looking to grab a new HDtv and want to spend less than two grand what should I get? I will be watching Blu-ray movies and my ps3, gaming and watching lots of sports. I am open to plasma and dlp but leaning to lcd. Let me know what you think. Thanks

personally, i like the samsung dlps, its a perfect fit for my living room and couch. plus for $1200 you can get a 56" 1080p and have lots of money left over to start your bd collection.
others here will tell you that plasma is better and in some ways it may be, it just depends on what you want from your tv. are you going to hang it, is there going to angled viewing spots, etc. i highly doubt that you'll go wrong with either plasma or dlp or even lcd. prices are so good right now that you end up a winner. |

If I were in your position I would look at a Sony 46" Bravia "s" series which is 720p/1080i and has one hell of a picture. This tv goes for right around $1900 and you will throughly enjoy watching your SD DVD and Blu ray DVD. You won't be dissapointed.

umm, a lot of the local high end shops are good. i like them over the large b&m's (bb, cc, etc) because you can typically negotiate price

You should be able to pick up a 50" Sony SXRD LcOS rear projection tv for under $2,000. My brother picked his up for around $1,800. It has great picture quality. It all depends on you however and what you are looking for. Take the time to shop around, and check several stores. Try Crutchfield.com too, they are running a sale on HDTV's right now up to $400 off.

It's not anywhere under $2000, but I saw the new Sony 46" Bravia model at a Sony Store today. It is the latest model with the XMV Colour Chipset included... Holy male multiple orgasms! Even at $3200 CDN I would have bought it on the spot except for 2 reasons: #1. I was on my bike. #2. I'm moving 4700KMs across the country in a couple of months and it would cost me far too much to drag it with. So, the associate and I talked shop for about 25 minutes while sampling some absolutely mind boggling Blu-ray material on this TV (16,000:1 contrast ratio by the way) and he said that if I wanted to buy it just before leaving town he could cut me a decent deal and arrange for me to get it from a store in Vancouver! And people say that Sony doesn't have great service?!?!
