Default Matrix Trilogy-Overpriced???

I really want to own this trilogy, but the cheapest I can find it right now is Amazon for $74.99. Is this price worth it? Or should I wait to see if it comes down more???

And for those who own it...Is the PQ and AQ good???

I'm waiting for it to come down to $59.99. I think $20 a movie is goo enough

I got the British isles release which came with just the 3 films not the animatrix £29.99.

Basically that's £10 a movie.

Not a bad deal at all.

i pray for the day when both are included in a B2G1...there would just have to be something else with a similar price tag to make it worth it

I got it for $69 something thru warner bros. w/ the 30% coupon. You can use the 25% off coupon and get it for $75....that would put it at under $20 a movie (there is 4 movies here...not 3...Animatrix included).

I got this set for Christmas. I think my wife got it from Amazon.

Yes, the PQ & AQ are fantastic. You can actually pick up more detail from all the movies. Keep in mind you are actually get 4 Blu-ray movies, as they also include the Animatrix. The Animatrix is a collection of short animated stories all dealing with different aspects of the Matrix. From before the fall of humans to how other humans got drawn into the real world.

Many folks don't like the 2nd & 3rd Matrix movies, but I do. They really do look good in Blu.

For the Matrix Collection (which also includes another 3 standard DVD with more extras) I would say a price around $60 would be good.

For the Bourne trilogy, I am waiting till it gets below $60, preferably closer to $50.

I kinda agree, but since I can write my BD purchases off I went ahead and got it just this week. At $64.99, that's under $22 a film, less than retail for most titles, no sales tax, and I get the snazzy box. Saw the first one last night. Saw it on DVD the first time and the story still rocks, so I'm happy with my purchase.

As for the OP, The Matrix Ultimate Collection is not even on my radar cuz I couldn't get pass the second film to ever watch the last one. I'm getting The Matrix digibook instead, only spending what I need to.

when Deep Discount had that ridiculous sale back in December I picked this up for $46 and some change. Free shipping too. No way could I pass that up. Honestly I would have paid $80 if I had to. It's so worth it. The definitive box set, without a doubt.

Considering that The Animatrix is also included, you are getting the collection for less than $20 a film at the $74.99 price tag.

I was able to snag the HD DVD set for $34.99 from Amazon when they were clearancing out the HD DVDs. It would take a steep price drop to make me double dip for blu, especially since the pq on the HDs is phenominal.

There's 4 movies. 4 x 20 = 80.
