Default How do you listen to your Onkyo?

So what listening mode do you have your Onkyo on when you watch movies, listen to tunes, and play games. When I watch movies I use THX Cinema, for games I use THX games, and music my reciever is on All Chan. What about you and do you have any suggestions. Thanks!

i use PLII music or THX music

PLII/THX "music" gives a better sound than PLII/THX cinema/movie

for everything else its dolby digital, true hd, etc

PL2 for most music, it gives a involving sweet spot over a larger part of the room.
THX, DD, Bitstream for Blue ray on a PS3, it is so much more full bodied throughput the whole range without being harsh on the ears.

To get the best out of these settings a really pure Mains supply is essential. The contamination on the Pre Amp circuits really closes the depth on the 2nd and 3rd levels of the recording down. Music and dialog sound muffed, especially on anything other than a direct setting.

Also a full size AV speaker system will shine better.

I still get the bass I need and it seems more natural. I'll experiment later tonight.

its more natural because it cancels out equalizers and such, at least i believe thats what it does...

I have the 605 and use "MULTI CH" for lossless audio (blu-ray/PS3), DD EX for lossy 5.1 inputs (TV, consoles, DVD).

I agree, and Direct and Pure Audio also turn off the bass management system, which in many systems will lower the bass (subwoofer out, and main speakers not capable of low bass).

I watch movies in Direct or Multichannel. And then listen to music, cds, ipod, etc. in Pure Audio. My speakers are more than capable of delivering a full range sound so I do not need the subwoofers input on it.

Opips, you have an Harman Kardon...we're not even talking about pre/pros amps..ect. ect.

We're talking about how you listen to your Onkyo's 605,606,705,706,805,806.....and on and on.
