Paramount releases hit the street the same day, and it doesn't matter who distributes it both Paramount and Dreamworks support both formats.

Cool The movies should be released in Late November/Early December

No official release date yet and certainly no official box art yet. I would bet on hearing about it in a month or so. Look at the new titles (not new releases) that are being announced for next month right now. (Kill Bill, etc.)

I don't remember where I read it but somewhere recently online I read that it was a possibility of Transformers being released on October 16. Personally, I think this is too early of a release for a movie released in July but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I also just went to see it a 2nd time. But you have not seen a film twice in a theater before in 40 yrs? What about Kill Bill? I must seen that at least 3 times in the theater. Star Wars III, Revenge of the Sith? I think I saw that film 4 times for sure!

Default Transformers in BR

I know this isnt saying much but I saved Transformers in my Blockbuster Q and it says 12/31/07. I too was hoping for a release before Christmas. So who knows. Things could change. The movie opening sure did.

I would be surprised if the title didn't come out before christmas. This movie will be a huge sucess in HD and after seeing how sucessful 300 is I am sure they dont want to miss the holiday rush.

That's simply a placeholder date meaning "before the end of the year"

It'll be out in plenty of time for Xmas so stop worrying about it

"I am very meticulous in buying ANY movie actually. My collection is very limited" xcntuatd77

I have what I think is quite a few DVD about 200 or so, I am not going to by all that many on Blu Ray simply because of those 200 films I only watch about 50 or so on a regular basis. So I will try an keep my collection small. I don't think I will buy another Blu Ray until Transformers comes out on Blu Ray. Transformers with PCM and Megan Fox in 1080i who can beat that. Well maybe Naomi Watts and Laura Ellena Harring in 1080i in Mulholland Dr. but it will be along time before I get that one, thanks a lot Universal. NOT

I did not make a mistake by typing 1080i because I only have a 1080i TV.

Personally I'm only going to be replacing 20-25% of my DVDs. I might do more when there's BR $5.99 bins, but only intentionally planning on that many

This movie will not be formally announced on bluray till the movie is playing in dollar theaters. They have spiderman three playing in the dollar theater near my house and its been playing there for about just a month. Announcement was made on bluray about a week ago.

Therefore a formal offical announcement for this movie on bluray wont be made till early october with late november/early december release.

Just my personal opinion, but I'd be shocked if this thing doesn't make it to BD in time for the holidays for all the obvious reasons.

Just a question...how hard is it to get a region 2 disc to played in a US dvd/bluray/hd dvd player? Is it even possible?

The reason why im asking is becasue transformers the cartoon movie released an ultimate edition in the UK where the movie is completely remastered and looks AWESOME in picture quality etc. Id like to buy that.

can it be done and if so, will the disc conversion be downsized in picture quality?

thanks for your help.

It's the same as the Sony Wonder disc released here.

It'll be slightly downrezzed if your display doesn't support PAL (99% of US TVs don't)

Any $50 player can usually be made region free and do the conversion

Besides, there's a Blu version due out, with a supremely tasty cover
