audio issue - Blu-ray Forum

so i would like to thank everyone for putting up with all my noob questions lol
setup my first home theater almost completely ...
one issue that is driving crazy with my audio is that the picture is lagging behind the audio ..... not on ps3/blu-ray but only with satelite... hard to say how long, probably under a second, but def noticeable ... and its only on some channels ... driving me crazy watching an nba game and hearing the swoosh of the net while a shot is almost reaching the rim, or the ball bouncing before it hits the floor...
im using the marantz 5002 and direct tv dvr HR21-100 (also using the apc power conditioner .. the silver one that was on sale ..)
what can be causing this?

I have seen this before, it might be the sat box itself, try powering it off and back on again.

not able to find a lot of info about your receiver...I'll have to dig more. I was looking to see if there is any kind of internal delay you can setup, like "lipsync" that will delay your audio to better match your video. Strange with yours, it's usually the other way around, you see the video first, then the audio follows. Regardless, how is your direct tv hooked into your system? Audio and video...please explain your connections.

hdmi out from sat to receiver
and then ..
receiver hdmi out to TV

noticing now that it def doesnt hapeen with ps3 ..... just with the direct tv receiver

did you try what phantompwr suggested?... a reset of your sat box? I'm thinking if you spend enough time with your settings of sat box and receiver, your gonna come across something. Seems that there is some kind of delay being added from one of those units.

tried all of that ...seems like its only happening with some channels or certain programming ...
its happening with one of my local sports channels (MSG) all of the time ... very frustrating ... going to try to set up lipsync on my receiver..
