Question The Last Emperor Audio Issue

I have a Sony BDP-S350, and for some reason my receiver can't play the DTS-MA track. Has anyone else had any issues with playing the 2.1 DTS-MA track for this movie? All of my 5.1/7.1 loss-less movies are successfully decoded by my receiver, but this 2.1 track doesn't like my receiver for some reason. I have a Pioneer Elite 94TX, which is hooked up via HDMI to my S350.

I dunno. Call or email Pioneer. I am thinking, that since it is a 2.1 track, that the "DTS MA" may not display on your Pioneer receiver (Since it is not 5.1). Just a guess.

I had no issues with the last emperor on my S-350, but I'm using an old-school receiver. No lossless audio for me yet just lossy 6.1 for now.

I rented this and watched it last week. Using a BD30 bitstreamed to an Onkyo 605, I know it lit up DTS-HD MA. I can't remember if it said 2.1 or not but it definitely lit up DTS-HD MA.

I had no problems listening The Last Emperor audio track bitstreamed from my BDP-S350 to my Onkyo receiver.

Both, the player and the receiver read the track as DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0
It's a stereo mix, guys.

My receiver read "Stereo". I do believe it is a DTS MA two track as others have said. I could not get my Pioneer Elite Receiver to read DTS, but when I went to some of the menu options, and selected the commentary track, the menu setting changed from DTS to Dolby. Therefore, It is indeed, as others have indicated, in DTS. I am still a bit puzzled as to why it only reads stereo on my receiver. Perhaps because it is only a two track, or perhaps the Pioneer will not display DTS unless it is 5.1. I dunno. BTW, I thought the sound was very good, and the movie speaks for itself. An excellent film.
