No official announcement yet. I remember renting this movie two times on dvd just because i was impressed by how good the DTS audio track sounded.
This should be a great reference title once it hits Blu-ray.

Are you referring to Gene Barry, or Ann Robinson? both of whom did a fine job in my opinion..... many people think the acting of the time was "weaker" I think you have to take into consideration the lack of proper sound-stages etc during production..... but I think the movie was good on all accounts

Actually this movie will probably have a decent amount of grain, might not be "reference" stuff like say I, Robot. I know that the audio will shake some houses though. I can't wait for the blu

Adjoining apartment dwellers know when I watch this movie, which is fairly often unfortunately for them! At least I'm considerate of the time of day I watch it.

This is a MUST purchase for me day 1!

Runs a little long but I would buy this day 1 just for the guilty pleasure aspect alone...the initial landing with high-res audio OMG....

I am no fan of Tom Cruise. As a result I don't buy anything with him in it. I just do not like the guy. But I love this movie. I want this and the original on blu-ray.

Maybe putting Dakota Fanning in there as the bratty screaming kid ruined it for some of you, but I thought it really added something. All he wanted to do was protect her from the world and get away from those creatures. But everywhere he turned he just became closer and closer to them.

In essense, it is a love story of a man for his daughter and son and the sacrifice he ultimately makes for them. But I guess that is too real for some of you. Some movies DO involve art, emotion and real life issues. They can't all play out like a video game.

I hold little hope for the future of movies when these classic directors die off and the young hard core, corn bred, videogame fed, shallow minded directors take their place.
