who knows how long they have been sitting at CC and how many times they got thrown around. you should have seen how they treated the tvs, let alone the audio stuff, how many times they changed where they put everything
Do you use the Component inputs(the prob was Comp to HDMI) on your 706? I'm all HDMI. No "Blu" signal crap for me... What was your doing again?

Haven't bought yet. Was just researching and noticing that people were complaining of blue dots in the black parts of the image. When I do get I will probably be only using the HDMI inputs.

HDMI for everything with me too, I have been getting choppy/audio drops with anything the receiver has to decode

I just got my 706 nearly a month ago, but have yet to be able to hook everything up (got a Mitsi 52" as well). I was wondering if the 706 was able to matrix a 5.1 soundtrack to a 7.1. Anyone know about that one?

Figured out mine is mostly a heating issue, I have it really well ventilated, but it still runs hot as hell, I could make an egg on the top of my 706. I have taken it to two service centers who tell me it is 100% perfectly fine, when I called Onkyo they told me to just get a fan for it, I shouldnt have to but that is what I am doing at the moment until I can talk to someone else there. My 706 has to run very cool, if it does then I have no probs

Yeah Onkyos run hot but come on !!!! Onkyo should atleast swap yours out for a new one?!?!?!?! especially if the the video is cutting out,how can they say thats normal!!!!! (thats the deal right?) I'm sorry about the heat thing... you can cook eggs & watch BD's at the same time now! Mine gets HOT too but never cuts out. You can see how open it is in my HT pic's. I kinda wish there was more than 3 or so inches above the unit but oh well. I have a Pioneer 1018 , & I was going to get the 1019 & sell the 1018, but now im hearing all kinds of crappy stuff about it so I might keep it, but if not I'll let you know? It run a lot cooler then my Onkyos do.

I am going to try and talk to them about it, I shouldnt have to put a fan by it, its pretty inconvenient, but it gets so hot that I can't stand to put my hand on the top of it, not that I do it often, but when the audio started to cut out, i checked it, and all I have to say is, ow, lol

wow, my Onkyo 805 gets that hot, but no problems then. You should check out the Antec AV cooler on Amazon. $90 shipped. Going to pick one up myself.
