Default Onkyo 706

Club Onkyo has a refurbished one for $489 after signing in. Is this a good AVR?

I got a brand new one for $480 out the door a while back! Damn its $600 on amazon right now!!! It is nice for what it does , 7.1, 4 HDMI inputs, THX, 115watts, dual zone & so on. It pushes my Polk TSi's just fine.

Accessories4less has it for $449. I wouldn't rush to buy that one from Onkyo.

This makes the SR706 VERY tempting...

Trying to decide if I should jump on the SR706 at $430, or wait for the Onkyo SR607 or the Yamaha V665 (brand new and can be had for relatively the same price)... maybe some of you out there can help sway me!

2 Things I want which that one doesnt have is Hd radio and pre-outs. The pro-outs dont seem like a big deal but if you want to upgrade later, you have to get another receiver.

I was under the impression that it did, but I'll be the first one to tell you that I'm not an audio expert by any stretch of the imagination... See the picture here:

In the midle just to the right a little bit.

All,

I noticed that the Onkyo site says:
* Refurbished products do not include batteries, cables or labels.

I'm wondering what all that entails. Batteries or labels I'm okay with... I was wondering what cables would not be included... does this mean that if I ordered refurb, I wouldn't be getting a set-up mic as well?

it better not mean that or im going to be pissed. I hope they mean it just doesnt come with A/V cables and such. Im going to call and ask tomorrow.

Edit: from posts ive read online everyone seems to say they still come with mic, and FM antenna. hopefully thats still the case.

You'll have to let us know what you find. I'm very interested too, but I didn't think we all needed to call, lol. If it comes with the mic, I'm pretty sure I'm pulling the trigger on the 706.

+ 1 ! Yes, we def. would like to know if they come with the cables & such, even though the site says they do not (?) for some reason. I'm going to order the 706 tomorrow or Monday, and need to know - though i'll still get it anyway.
