Question Oasis: Lord Don't Slow Me Down [Blu-ray] out on March 17

I noticed that this is ready for preorder on Amazon.ca and CDUniverse for 03/17. Hope its true, 'cause I think it was postponed from a previous date. Anyway, does anyone know of a blu-ray review or the specs? I believe it was already released in the UK, so maybe someone there knows?

Where do they get off coming up with List Price: CDN$ 68.78????

That's ridiculous.

I wish they'd do a Blu-ray of the Definitely Maybe release with a 5.1 track.

Amazon.ca lists this as an import and prices it like an import but I am not aware of any import of this title that would play normally on a Region A player. This will have to be watched very carefully. There is one version from the UK and one from Australia, both supposedly with the same content.

So hamisht, what are the specs? Lossless audio? When you say the concert footage are you referring to the entire Manchester concert that was included on the dvd release or the concert footage within the documentary? Is the Manchester concert included?

I know! Grossly overpriced. But CD Universe have for about $20 US, which is about $25 Canadian. I'll probably go with them if its region free.

...*sigh*...looks like it got delayed again. Amazon.ca has the usual 'Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock' and CD Universe has it on backorder.

According to hamisht it is region free, so I'll consider importing it.

Supposedly the version released in the U.K. and Australia has the video in 1080i at 50 Hz, which most standalone region A BD players will not be able to play, including the PS3. So region-free would not really matter here unless you had a player capable of playing 1080ip25 material like a computer. This has become a problem on music BD imports as some of the studios in Europe are too lazy to convert the video to be playable on all players.

I am also very interested if they release a version capable of being played in Region A players.

Thanks for the info. I have a PS3, so I guess it won't play. I'll wait then.

Does anyone know the frame rate of the original footage? Was this filmed in 24, 25 or 30 fps?

How does the concert sound? Messy like their previous live releases or is it at all listenable?

It's not that their being lazy. The studios that release it at the correct, original frame rate are the ones doing the right thing and care about quality. It's the studios that convert 50i to 60i for Europe that are the ones being lazy and giving everyone a worse quality product.

Agree! If the speed is changed, the audio suffers. I don't want that.

I had a hard job even finding this in the UK. It ended up with me having to go to ebay and get one for £10. The concert footage looks very grainy at the start but seems like it's only certain camera angles that have this grain one them.

The film is in B&W so you can't really tell as much, it does look a lot better than the dvd tho. And the menus have the unrelased songs featured in the documentary on most of them which is cool. Espeically seen as in the documentary some of them have talking over the top and in the menu they don't. Also one menu has a full version of Noel playing "teotinican" from the music shop scene.
