I been having trouble with the post office lately and I'm not sure why.
Monday I tried to send out a movie priority mail and the guy said my package was too light to be sent priority? WTF? Then today I tried to send a package from the US to Canada and the guy tried to charge me $19 for postage. WTF? It was only a few dollars in the past, why so much? Does anyone remember how they send they packages to Canada? Was it Air mail? I can't remember. Can anyone help? I really don't want to go back on a deal because of the post office. |

mail rates arent scheduled to increase until May I think it is. I think the PO is shipping the most expensive rate possible as I mail stuff daily and the rates are the same

They have rates based on Zones now, so sending it to a neighboring zone will be less than 2 or 3 zones away. It lowered the price for closer addresses but increased it for the longer distance hauls.

I have notice this from inexperienced or bad postal clerks. The thing is to know what classification it is mailed in, so when they make a mistake, give them a polite reminder what classification you have always used in the past. Proper amounts are $1.72, $1.90+ with a little extras like the sealing wrap, inserts, or an extra disc. Make sense if you ask for for Priority and they give you a 17.50 Flat Rate Express Envelope Last edited by avhed; 05-20-2009 at 03:41 AM. |
