PS3 and MI3 BR playback - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone had or heard of any PS3 playback issues with MI3? I rented it the other day and the PS3 made it to the disc menu, then it said the disc was unreadable after starting playback. I turned off 24hz support and tried other resolutions to no avail. At one point it froze the PS3. The disc was in pretty good shape overall. I searched the forum/google and didn't find anything so I'm sure it was just that disc I rented, but I thought I'd ask anyway since I'm planning on buying it today. My PS3 has updated to FW ver. 1.9. Thanks.

i did not have any problems with it... since you rented it that might be the problem.

mines good....make sure ur machine wasnt connected to the internet....can cause such problems

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I'm sure it's just the copy rented, but I just wanted to check since I'd hate to spend the $ and not have it work.

I own MI3 on BD and I've never had a problem on my PS3, internet connected or not. Probably just the rental.

Probably just a damaged disc or maybe a fingerprint that you missed. Did you try cleaning the disc with a soft towel to remove smudges?

FWIW, my puchased copy of MI:3 on Blu-ray plays perfectly fine.

Very few smudges and I did clean it so yeah I'm positive it was just the copy. But again, I just wanted to be sure before I buy it. Thanks everyone.

Try skipping ahead by using the select scene feature on the menu. You might be able to see whether the quality is up to snuff.

I'm personally boycotting Tom Cruise films but to each their own.

I also had a problem with this disc on my friends PS3, however I have yet to try it on mine.

During the scene on the bridge, it couldn't seem to get past that area at all. I am going to try it on mine and see if I get a different result.

I've played mine several times, even before update 1.8. Still works like a champ on the PS3.
