Amazon "this item has been discontinued"? - Blu-ray Forum

Why is it that when you search for a Blu-Ray disc on Amazon, at the top of the page you see the disc and its price, and then four to five slots down on the page the same (apparently) item is listed as discontinued by the manufacturer?

Most of them appear to be the same blu-ray

Sometimes it just the simple matter of the manufacturer changing the UPC number for the same item. This is how Amazon handles it in their database, by listing the old sku number as discontinued.
