Default ‘Superman & Lois’ TV Series

New Arrow-verse show coming:

Quote:
‘Superman & Lois’ TV Series Starring Tyler Hoechlin & Elizabeth Tulloch In The Works At The CW

The CW’s DC universe is eying another major expansion with Superman & Lois, a present-day drama based on the DC characters, starring Supergirl‘s Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the iconic couple. The hourlong project, now in development, hails from The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing, DC Universe architect Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros. TV, where Helbing and Berlanti are under deals.

Written by Helbing, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman & Lois revolves around the world’s most famous Super Hero and comic books’ most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.

Former Flash showrunner Helbing executive produces with Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns via Berlanti Productions.

With several DC series reaching maturity and the show that launched the CW universe, Arrow, in its final season, the network is stepping up its DC development efforts with two high-profile projects. Superman & Lois joins an Arrow spinoff headlined by the show’s Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy reprising their roles. It is set up as a backdoor pilot that will air as episode from the current eighth and final season of Arrow.

Superman & Lois is being developed as a standalone pilot and will not be introduced as a planted spinoff on one of the existing DC series on the CW. It marks a new stage in the DC franchise evolution on the CW as it features one of the most iconic DC characters, Superman.

Hoechlin has been portraying Clark Kent/Superman on the CW’s Arrowverse series since 2016, primarily on Supergirl. Tulloch was cast as Lois Lane last year when she appeared alongside Hoechlin’s Man of Steel in the 2018 Arrowverse crossover. She has since appeared as Lois Lane on Supergirl, The Flash and Batwoman. Both Hoechlin and Tulloch are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming big Arrowverse crossover event.

Tulloch previously starred as the female lead for six seasons on NBC’s Grimm. Her recent feature credits include Chronic, opposite Tim Roth, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

WBTV had previously been working on a Superman prequel series, Metropolis, for DC Universe. The live-action series, from Gotham executive producers John Stephens and Danny Cannon, centers around Lois Lane and supervillain Lex Luthor.

Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois hasn't quite won me over yet, but it's Superman & Lois, so I'm looking forward to it.

I kinda lost interest in the Arrowverse a few years ago, but I would at least give a chance to anything starring Superman.

I have been wanting this for a while. Love Tyler Hochlin's Superman. No more Superman being cucked on supergirl's show

Kind of surprising, after they went so hard on the Supergirl aspect to now just bring in Superman... Also, further proof that the DC can't be in TV and movies thing is a ridiculous rule they have lol I'll check it out, definitely going to be better than that future based Arrow spinoff.

I guess with A Million Little Things being filmed in Vancouver, Elizabeth Tulloch figured she could work on a CW show full time lol

Not really. I'm guessing they think they are being clever by having Brandon Routh be a Superman in the crossover, but (while not his fault) he's been the worst Superman in the history of the character. Hoechlin has been the Arrowverse Superman, so there's really no reason to change that at all.

Tulloch hadn't won me over as Lois yet either, but she's been her in everything in the Arrowverse so far, so obviously they are sticking with her.

Not sure if I'm going to watch this or not. I already watch enough, so they are going to have to give me a pretty damn good trailer for Season 1 to reel me in.

At last! Tyler is great as Superman and if they are taking inspiration from the Rebirth era comics with bringing in the Lois and Clark's son then that makes this an even more exciting prospect. One very happy Superfan here.

As long as they don't do that ridiculous "Team Hero" crap the other CW shows do, should be okay. If they give Perry White a secretary who's also an "adorkable computer hacker", I'm out.

I would love to see this happen. I would have rather seen this start this season than Batwoman. I just hope they don't give it the usual SJW crap the rest of the Arrowverse has.

When he first showed up in Supergirl I thought Hoechlin looked too short and small to Superman, especially when standing next to Olsen.

He was great as Kal-El and Clark though and has gotten better. I recently watched the Elsewords crossover and seemed bigger somehow and was even playing the part better.

Tulloch was good as Lois and it was the first time I've liked a Lois from the start.

So I'm glad to hear about this show. And I hope it goes to series.

I also hope they start with the kid being a baby ands space travel as an excuse not skip a head a few years. There would be some great stories with them as new parents.

That's Supergirl's fault for casting a big muscular black man for a skinny-to-average pale white ginger character lol Throws your mental dimensions off.
