Oh yeah, forgot about Spiderman 2's, that was very cool, surprised that they didn't go with a similar style for the third one. That shoulda been a sign right from the get-go.

Anything by the late, great Saul Bass, with Grand Prix and Casino being personal favorites.

Amen, Saul Bass rules. My favorites from him lean more towards his work with Hitchcock, including Psycho and North by Northwest.

Maurice Binder's title sequences for James Bond movies are also always a treat.

David Fincher also usually has strong openings, with Panic Room being my favorite.

Since can't top Watchmen (and Catch Me If You Can) already on my short list, I'll just have to stick up for a few underappreciated favorites:

The Abominable Dr. Phibes

Mannequin
The Pink Panther Strikes Again
Superman III
Barbarella
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
(and all its Meyers-esque rib-bruising nudges to A Hard Day's Night )

(And I have yet to see one mention of Monty Python & the Holy Grail, people...
Were we just assuming it as a given, or too traumatized by nasty moose bites?)

#1. Watchmen - easily THE BEST title sequence I have ever witnessed.
#2. Superman (1978) - I still get thrills and chills because of the score even though I've watched the movie about 100 times.
#3. Fight Club - it's just too cool to forget!

I liked the opening title sequence on Bruce Willis' 'Hostage' as well as the one for Sin City. Very stylish.

My first thought was Superman (1978) as well.
Run Lola Run's opening sequence is too cool... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZMArPrFYek
City Of Lost Children -the credits aren't so special but the scene happening under them is nightmarish! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkvCJqhsFrY

Watchmen really blew me away. I want to know how they filmed it. I would watch an entire doc on it.

I may have to watch Fight Club again (yuck). I don't remember the title sequence at all, and everyone here is raving about it.
