I'd love to support this forum by ordering my Blu-ray movies from Amazon,
using the click-through links on this website. However, Amazon doesn't seem to have good prices lately. In fact, I just ordered 19 Blu-ray movies and all of them were cheaper by as much as $8 per movie on Tower.com.... (free shippping on either website) |

I use to buy strictly from Amazon.com, they use to have great deals and prices when the format war was still going on, and the Canadian dollar was much stronger then. Now the deals on amazon are fewer and fewer, and I can't stand that they jack the prices up on titles and then tell you they are on sale as part of a buy 2 get one free.
Its just not worth is now, for me at least with the "Import Deposit Fee" plus add another $3 per title for shipping, and our low dollar... Its cheaper for me to now buy blu's at B&M stores here in Canada, where a year ago it was so much more cheaper to order from Amazon.com... |

Amazon still has great buys and frankly, I think Tower Records is over-priced. OP, you working for them? LOL.
Anyway, I just compared 5 random blu-ray titles between Amazon and Tower...Amazon had the lowest price every time. ![]() |

I personally use Amazon quite a bit for Blu purchases. Granted, I don't have a huge library yet, but most of my titles were purchased from Amazon. I have also now purchased about five on eBay (just bought Night at the Museum and Short Circuit earlier this week). |

i've never ordered from tower, but i have heard numerous stories about occasionally long shipping times. i've noticed their prices are sometimes better than amazon, but i've always had a problem-free experience with amazon - great overall pricing, availability, and exceptional customer service. if it isn't broke, why fix it?

Amazon all the way! Prime makes it worth it! Sitting on the couch and ordering a movie, and sometimes from my phone in a random location, only to receive it a day or two later.....Priceless!
I have gone to B&Ms plenty of times and left empty handed knowing I could get it much cheaper online. Out of all of my collection, only a handful have been purchased in store. |

I often check prices on US BD's and I think Tower is way cheaper! Especially on catalogue titles! But also on new movies: W. = $15.99, Repo! = $10.99, Basic Instinct = $9.99 and Event Horizon = $14.99...... I think those are pretty decent prices! Ive only ordered from Amazon.com once (Transformers $9.99) and it arrived fast and cheap, but whenever I buy movies from the US I use Axelmusic.com, or ocassionally Tower.com because of their prices...

However, for cheaper titles or special deals, Amazon US can be a good place to order from. I've ordered all 4 seasons of Lost on Blu with them. Even if I have to pay about 50 euro import duties, it'll still be cheaper than ordering them all at AxelMusic. Haven't tried Tower much though, so maybe I should check their prices more often (interested in getting Event Horizon) |

I guess it really depends...
Like I said, I just ordered 19 Blu-ray movies from Tower because these 19 were more expensive at Amazon.com... However, I also ordered two Blu-ray movies("Australia" and "Quantum of Solace" from Amazon.com because these two were more expensive on Tower.com. Interestingly, I placed "Dark Knight(Blu-ray)" in my Tower.com shopping cart last month when it was only $22.99... I didn't checkout because I wanted to rent the movie first. When I went to checkout(along with the other 18 Blu-ray movies) yesterday, I logged into my Tower account. For some reason they remembered "Dark Knight" in my shopping cart, at the same $22.99, despited the fact that Tower's current prices is $29. Not sure if this is their standard practise?
