yea I saw that too - I think they went up Friday. They're bound to go down, but there's no way to say when. I just check their site once a day or so, for those as well as the T90e's I'm hoping to order this Friday.

The Polk Monitor line is discontinued so they're becoming much more of a pain in the ass to find. As soon as I see a pair of Monitor 40's I'm gonna grab em

& your point is? -- This Friday, for sure. Just need to decide on the 30's or 40's by then. Or not. I mainly want to get the fronts ordered.

I'd rather spend $99 at Newegg (or $79 in the last couple of weeks, Maple color, no Black listed there). If I go with the 30's, $79-99 I can live with vice $175

would be Perfect. I sent a note to Polk to see about any major diff. between the 30 & 40, aside from the size, and the 2 mid/woofers on the 40 vice the 1 on the 30. - I might just go with the 30's, saving some $$$ & i'm not sure if I need the size/power of the 40's for my size room (11x13) in the end.

I wish it was Friday now so I can order my fronts - prob. 2-3 days shipping, & maybe Two trips to get them home (small car, might be able to fit ONE box in the backseat, doubtful on 2! )

Btw, I see another T90e, 2 PSW-10 set-up you have! - MANY people have these combo's, along with the CS10 or 20 center.

When he said if they went back down to $79, I was hoping yes, by Friday hopefully - when I plan to order my new gear.

Oh. I guess I usually order stuff when it hits my price point most of the time. For my sub that I ordered from newegg, it hit $100 but I waited. Next time I checked it was $120 so I continued to wait. When it hit $100 I also got an email coupon from newegg for 10% off, so I nailed it at $90. I just lucked out on that email deal as I almost ordered it sooner, but when I went back to order the price had gone up so I said "no".

But, I also look around, wait, look around more, wait, and when I feel it isn't going much lower if at all, then I make a decision. That's how I got my CS10 for $92 off Ebay's Polk Direct store, & my BD35 player for $200 Cash from a private seller when it was going for $330 or so a few months back. It was only a couple mos. old and in perfect working order, and works great. Same for 2 PSW-10's, got them both for $99 & $100 respectively, and have them under $100 and well over $100.

I am another one with a CS-10, T90e with the 2 PSW-10 subs set-up.....and I love em'! I am not the most knowledgable on audio, but I did do my homework and feel I got a good deal with even better sound than I could have imagined!

My setup is similar to many of your guys'. Im using an Onkyo 605 AVR, Monitor 50 fronts, CS2 center, and T15 surrounds. Im also in the market for a pair of either Monitor 30's/40's. They're pretty difficult to find a good deal on being that they're discontinued. Best i've seen is the $80 deal through newegg. I'll be keeping an eye out though...

To me, Polk always seems to get excellent reviews, based on performance, their price points or both here. I am a happy new believer and just recently found out what I have been missing with my new set-up.

Default Monitor 30's or 40's

Now i'm leaning towards the 30's - I sent an email to Polk Audio seeing about what they thought would be best for my 11x13' room size as far as surrounds - the 30's or 40's:

Hello Steve,
Thanks for contacting us. Most owners use the Monitor 30 speakers for the surround position.
Regards, Ken,
Polk Audio

Hello,
I understand, I would still recommend the Monitor 30 for that size room. But this is just my opinion, either one would work fine and sound great with the rest of your system.

Take care,
Ken

A bit on the brief side....but I guess he made his point. In the end, only your ears will be able to tell the difference.....seems whichever is the better price is the set to get if you ask me.

great - now my car's giving me engine problems so I'll drop that off tonite, & will need a rental for 1-2 days, & who knows how much repairs might cost. My new gear was THISCLOSETOME!!

Eh, maybe it won't be too bad.
