Default Amazon Gold Box - I Dream of Jeannie: The Complete Series DVD - $69 shipped

Amazon has the complete I Dream of Jeannie series for $69 with free shipping. Personally I can stand the series, but my parents love it, so maybe I'll buy it and have it shipped to them as a present (or at the very least since I'm cheap, tell them about it so they can buy it themselves, lol).

Anyways, link below:

Not sure why this is posted here since these are DVD's, not Blu-rays.

That said, Twilight Zone DVD complete set dropped big time today. If was $150 in the gold box a few weeks ago. Today it's $94 (28 DVD's, 156 episodes, loads of extras...). Very tempting.

Also, classic TV in the GB for the next few days. I Love Lucy is expected to be next...

Hadn't planned on getting much of anything else today. Oh well.

January 29 to be precise. I bought it for $150 then, and I'm ticked it is now $55 cheaper just outside of the return day. Such as life.

My wife's daughter (Lori) is Barbara Eden's niece. I've been to Barbara's home once a few years ago where I got to meet Michael Ansara.

It's tempting to call Lori to see if she could get Barbara to autograph this series.

Here's an interesting fact: A lot of times, after Barbara made a live appearance, my wife, who has the same look as Barbara, would sit and sign autographs for Barbara and no one knew the difference.

So, be careful out there if you trying to buy a signed photo of Barbara.

Wouldn't that also be your daughter?

Lori is my daughter in law. I used her in my post because she is the only one that is directly related to Barbara, not me or my wife.

My wife's ex-husband, who has passed, was Barbara's brother

I just read the reviews. It's not that great. My DVDs still look great. Not sure if upgrading will add to the re-watching experience. Even if I buy the new set (and really only if it gets cheaper considering that they could have done a better job), I'll be keeping my DVDs for the extra features.

To be honest, it just looks like they up-scaled the DVD to 1080i. The interlacing from the screen shots look horrible. I know players through a TV generally are better at handling interlacing, but how can this look so bad when other shows from the 1960s have gotten a better looking Blu-ray release. I think your player and TV up-scaling of the DVD might look better, especially if it's already progressive.
