My copy is a bit 'loose', sounds like there's stuff sliding inside - well, it actually sounds like it's all sliding inside, LOL. I'll investigate tomorrow
Do you mean had received S2 and it has a slipcase? I got my S1 set today and there is no slipcase.

I put both series sets in the cart at Network's site and proceeded to checkout.
Subtotal: £38.41
Shipping: £40
Total: £78.41

Sooo, I guess I'm not going to own those sets
A stark contrast to companies like Eureka that offer free international shipping on all orders.

May be worth looking at the shipping charge if you look to order separately on the Network site.

For lower weight packages the shipping is much lower. The problem is once you hit their weight threshold they send all international orders by one of the couriers like FedEx and hence charge a £40 flat fee. On lighter packages they use the regular mail.

Thanks. I didn't think of that. That takes the shipping down to a more manageable £7.85 for one set.

It’s also available on Amazon UK. It’s more expensive than Network but might end up cheaper overall with shipping.

Yes, my order was just Series 2 and it had a slipcase.

My Series 1 was purchased quite a few years ago and that didn't come with a slipcase.

Was about to post that, the slip was limited to 1999 copies with each individually numbered (I got number 0070/1999)

Did you end up with Series 2?

Looks like it's still widely available, so I don't think there's a rush... but I'm glad I jumped in, being having fun watching it.

I really prefer S1 in tone/style, but S2 is fun in a different way.

Ahh - brings back fond memories of being a kid in the 70's... God, I'm old. LOL.

Not yet I'm afraid. Other domestic bills have taken priority (central heating repairs and I'm getting fourteen windows replaced next month)

I'll probably do that annoying thing where I wait too long then piss and moan about not being able to buy them when they do go OOP.

EDIT: Just ordered Season 2. Thanks for the much needed kick up the arse

LOL - I know what you mean - a new roof this year is due soon...

But, Blu-Rays win for another month or two (or three)

Regarding waiting too long... I did that with the Professionals (Western) - it was in loads of 2 for 10 and 3 for 10 sales at Amazon and Zoom, then suddenly disappeared from all the regular Zoom sales.. (only DVD left) and I've been watching a few pop in and out of stock at Amazon, so grabbed one (but ended up spending more).

Anyway. back on Space 1999, presume you ordered via Network? Amazon still have it at a high price.

Yeah, Network. It works out pretty well for the individual seasons.

HMV are selling The Complete set for 60 quid

I think the Mrs is ordering me season 1 later tonight. She feels bad because she got me bugger all for Valentine's Day

New roof? Yikes! That'll scupper spending for a while

for the Mrs

Yes on the roof - that's why I'm spending now... it'll mean BR's take a nose dive for a while... hopefully nothing too good comes out in the Summer!

Can somebody point me, where is listed (if anywhere) the differences in content,
between the 13-disk and 10-disk release?

There is a 13 disc set

I know the 10 disc set drops the bonus discs from the individual series 1 and 2 releases.

As already noted the Network complete box omits the bonus discs found on the season sets in the UK, hence lower disc count.

The Shout release includes bonus discs.

Yes, that's what's missing from the 10 disc Network box vs the individual seasons.

Also, the movie cut of Bringers of Wonder - Destination: Moonbase-Alpha - is unique to the individual limited edition release now OOP so is in neither the season sets or the complete.
Network still has copies of that one, noticed it in current Blu ray sale.
