Default Anyone here watch INTERVENTION?

This has to be one of the greatest shows on television (I should feel terrible saying that...but I don't)

Anyone see the episode about the Xbox addict

The wife and I watch it all the time. Never saw the Xbox addict...I'd change it right away if that episode came on...don't want the wife getting any ideas...

I'm a mental health therapist who specialized primarily in addictions, and even though I see it almost everyday at work, I do enjoy intervention. In most shows like this, the supposed experts are full of crap, but in my opinion, most of the counselors/therapists on intervention actually know what they're talking about.

This is a great show if you want to see how truly F'd up people can be. It's also terribly sad at the same time.

My wife watches it regularly...she didn't find it too funny the other day when I pointed out the irony of being addicted to INTERVENTION...oh well, I amuse myself...

nice...i find myself sometimes getting addicted too. there's just something about those people's lives that amuses me... i kind of feel bad saying that... i remember during one intervention the woman walked in on it and she freaked when she realized what it was and took off running down the street

I don't.

Whoever thought up the idea of publicizing someone's private live at a time when they're at their weakest point is a waste of carbon.

Not reality TV shows about drug addicts that are confronted by their family.

I watch it sometimes.... it's the only "reality T.V." show I can stand really..... I like watching the people get all jacked up... don't really care about the "Intervention" part....then I like to see the ones who relapse

I feel exactly the same way inside, but at the same time I do understand that some people enjoy watching certain things to entertain themselves, so I kind of keep it to myself...or at the very least I try to use some -- shall we say -- more clever wording. I do see what you're saying, though, and like I said I feel pretty much the same way. I would hate to have a personal situation related to addiction publicly exploited if I were in one. The troubled life and times of my departed father comes to mind.

Then again, the families probably signed up for this, so it's hard to really blame anyone.

Don't even get me started on those shows that glorify the ginormous families with 20 kids! Those ones vex me to no end.

Some people just have different tastes. I watch TV, but I do not partake in those shows. I feel they're a bit too personal and such...basically take what jadedeath said but with some gentler words in there so as to be sensitive to the idea that people watch what they want to watch.
