Default just did the math- I need an intervention

I just did the math on what my innocent purchase of a new TV two weeks ago has cost me in my fanatical pursuit to upgrade everything I have in as short of a time as possible. It ain't pretty.
Samsung LNT4071 LCD- $2048 tax included- Sears
Samsung P1200 BD player- $92 floor model- (why the hell not)- Sears
Onkyo 605- $399.99- Crutchfield ( free shipping- no tax thru amazon)
Polk Audio Rti4 speakers, pr- $199.99- Crutchfiled thru amazon
Polk Audio Csi3c Center - $149.58 tax and shipping J & R
Polk Audio PSW10- $137.88- tax and shipping
Wall Mount- 81.00 tax and shipping - Monoprice
10 ft 1.3 HDMI cable- $21 Monoprice
14 AGW speaker wire- 100 ft, $26 Monoprice
Banana plugs - $12 Monoprice
10 ft 1.3 HDMI cable- $18 Cablemart
Media cabinet to house extra-thick AVR- $277- Wickes bankruptcy- 50% off

Roughly $3500- Jesus - what the hell happened!?!? .

come to think of it I still need some rear speakers. hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I'd say you've got a very nice, and modest setup.

A lot more than I've spent. So far I've only splashed out on the PS3 (and the movies obviously). Everything else I've had for at least 2 years. Doesn't mean I'm not looking around though

It is a good set up. Didn't mean to come off a snob.

I don't even want to do the math...not that it's all that crazy, but it would just be a bad thing for me to do.

Ouchie....I have a feeling if I calculate all that I've spent I'll have a hard time getting over it. I just know I'm not spending out of my means so that's all that matters.

I don't believe there's a soul on this list, who, if he or she added up what they've spent over their lifetimes for TVs, stereos, movie players (Beta, VHS, Laser, CED, DVD, Blu, HD DVD) and media (LPs, tapes, CDs, DVDs, Blu's, etc.), wouldn't be completely distressed at the final financial talley.

I prolly could have retired by now had I not been bitten by the entertainment media bug at a young age.

I have no idea how much I have spend on my HD hobbie. Nor, do I want to calculate any amounts. No way I am giving my wife any "evidence". If she aks, I just say" Don't worry about it, saved lots of money in the sale".

I did this the other day myself. I was kind of shocked out the outcome. My equipment is in my sig. I've recently upgraded everything but the NHT speakers which were purchased back in 1998 for a total of $1500. They still sound great 10 years later.

All worth it to me though.

A litte? I am kidding. I am sure you, as do many others on this board, work hard for what you have. I know I do.
