I've searched but can't find any info on The Quiet Man for BD. Anyone have any info?

Well I wish they'd get on the stick. There has NEVER been a good transfer of this movie.

I hate to dig up this ancient thread, but I was wondering if anybody had heard anything about this. This is one of my favorites, and I'd love a blu-ray release of it (or anything better than the awful dvd).

Maureen Ohara is 90 now, I sure wish she'd do something with this timless movie before it's too late.

My memory is that the laserdisc transfer was much better than the really awful dvd... of course it's been 20 years since I've seen the laserdisc.

I am hoping for this movie sooner rather than later. As I understood it, there was a UCLA print that was really great...but not used for the DVD... I don't know... i think Robert Harris talked about it at the Home Theatre Forum.

Watched this the other night on DVD. Terrific film - one of my all time favorites, but boy does it need a good transfer to Blu. Any news yet?

I started this thread 3 years ago. Cripes, you'd think with all the crap that gets ported to BD, we could get something like this done before we move to 4k.
