Default The Fast and the Furious single movies?? When will they be released?

Anybody think we will see this as a Stand alone in the not too distant future? I didn't care for the other two movies and wouldn't give any of them the time of day...kinda like the that Second Matrix move. I don't think people should be forced to buy Movies they don't like. Just not a Big fan of Trilogy's.

Same here!

I will wait until they release them separately as i loved the first but hated the second and the third was pretty meh too. Hopefully this new Fast and furious will be good, looks much closer to the first and it has Vin Diesel which is awesome

In some cases i would buy movies i didnt even like for the sake of having the complete set, such as Bond or Indiana Jones, but the fast and furious series is nowhere near that caliber of importance to me

(i hated indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull, but i would still buy it because im such a huge fan of the character and series i feel it would be incomplete without)

Well, I made a thread about the standalones available in the UK here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=93147

There's a good chance they are region free.

Vin is in charge of the franchise now that was the deal the studio made for his cameo in the 3rd movie they are working on a 5th one i think we will see them as Stand alones when the 4th one comes out on bluray or at least the first one will be a stand alone

In preparation for the release of Fast and Furious Universal is getting consumers prepared with new “limited” edition DVD releases of the first three films as well as a box set release of all three films on Blu-ray. I expect my Blu-ray review copy will be here any day and I will have some kind of review online afterward, but I am not sure buying a trilogy is worth it as the fourth film is about to hit theaters and a rumored fifth one already in the planning stages… that is if you like these films and already own them. If you like them and don’t own them the price isn’t all bad.

Oh... so for a 15 second irrelevant cameo that appeared in only a few commercials in the days leading up to release they put Diesel in charge of the franchise? Yeah, right, that makes a lot of sense... Reality is that Dieseil did the cameo because Director Justin Lin screened a rough cut of Tokyo Drift for him and asked him to do it to give the series a sense of cohesion. It was well after the fact, and the success of Tokyo Drift, that the studio began investigating ding a 4th one (Diesel's numerous box office flops helped out with this as he benefited from returning). It was the strike that really brought things together because they had a script based on the Diesel character that could be quickly modified to include Walker and shot with minimal re-writes during the strike.

Diesel - whose real talent might actually be behind the camera, Spielberg liked his directorial work in Strays so much that he wrote Diesel a part in Saving Private Ryan and let him co-direct his own death scene - has also directed a 20 minute short film that will be on the DVD/Blu-Ray release that somehow links the three Walker/Diesel movies to Tokyo Drift.

Like all sequels that aren't filmed at the same time the release of a 5th one is entirely dependent on the success of the this one, though both Walker and Diesel have said they'd be willing to do it.

I definitely agree that we'll likely see them as standalones when the 4th one comes out on Blu so probably September or October...

I would hope/anticipate that they release the first three films in the series individually when this latest entry, "Fast & Furious", hits Blu-Ray/DVD. I'll be pissed if they make us wait longer then that, or simply don't ever release them individually - but I think it's a fair expectation given they were released that way on HD-DVD to begin with. watching the second one on TV last night was painful, and the third one was merely ok.

They should seriously fire whoever is in charge of coming up with the titles for these films. I'm going to guess the next one goes something like "The Furious 5 Go Fast".

check eBay or the trading forums. I'm sure evrybody dislikes one of the movies and is trying to sell it. Or just part it out and make some money. Worth a try.

Update: just checked ebay, I found all of them for sale by themselves. Can't really give a price though seeing as how there's still time left. That's your best bet though.

do most trilogy sets come with individual cases for each movie?

i might be interested in buying just Fast and furious if someone has it for sale individually on EBAY

but i refuse to purchase a film without a case and artwork on the cover

same reason im holding out on the bourne trilogy, never liked the second one so i was hoping to get 1st and 3rd separate

The packaging varies from series to series but in my experience most movies have individual cases: Bourne, Fast and Furious, Resident Evil, Rambo, Spider-Man, Starship Troopers, Mission: Impossible, Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alien vs. Predator. A handful have slimline cases: Austin Powers, Batman Anthology, Matrix. I can only point to a small number that would have no individual casing whatsoever: Godfather, Ultimate Avengers, Die Hard, The James Bond Volumes (though the last two have individual releases)
