I just finished watching this and did anyone feel like I did and not like this movie? I thought for sure The Dark Knight, Wall-E, The Wrestler, and Gran Torino were better.. I had no problem with Danny Boyele's direction, but the story was a dud to me.

I really didn't know what to expect when I watched it. It had to prove alot to win all the awards. I have to honestly say I thought it was great. Sure, its a boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back movie, and I knew what the final question would be. But it was a compelling story with great performances. Now, will it stand the test of time--who knows. But I have been recommending it to everyo

Surprised you didn't post this opinion in one of the other slumdog threads.

I loved it. And in reading all of the other threads I would say 60% loved it, 25% liked it and 15% didn't.

Out of your list I would rank...

slumdog>the wrestler>TDK>wall E

I really liked the wrestler but it was no where near the movie Slumdog was. The Wrestler was a GREAT performance inside of a decent movie. Slumdog was a great ensemble inside of a masterful movie.

Without Rourke, The Wrestler would have been average to me. The Wrestler was somewhat predictable and didn't establish the relationship with him and Marisa enough, nor his relationship with his daughter.

Slumdog was like the perfect rollercoaster to me. Pulled you in many different directions. The cinematography was amazing, the score was perfect, and the story was original.

I am watching it again tonight.

If you don't understand how strong the Indian belief of "it is written" is, the movie doesn't hold as much value. It is beyond destiny.

Maybe watch it again.

I didn't watch The Wrestler yet but Slumdog was eh...I need to watch it again. Maybe I'll enjoy it more but some parts were very slow. TCCOBB was a lot better imo. However, that was slow at times too lol. Gran Torino was a great film!
