I think that the center of the cap screwed to the speaker binding post may be removable to allow for the usage of banana plugs.

Heh, looks like Polks. Yeah, just unscrew the plastic all the way off, then you can remove the plastic center cap. Screw the plastic "nut" back on, and voila. I have a pic somewhere in my gallery of how it'll look when you're done with a Polk speaker.

*edit*

Note these are using "open" type banana plugs so the cable goes in the bottom, but the premise is still the same.

Umm...no? Even with a super high end set up you wouldn't notice a difference. My only comment about the "short answer" was referring to there are certain electrical properties that cause it to not be an audible difference that you can dive into about why they don't make an impact.

Can I use these banana plugs for the Monitor 50s, because I thought you could only use the bare wire connection ?

There's no difference in quality with using banana plugs, provided you tightened the strands of the wire well onto the plugs.

Ok i finish installed my speaker setup, using all banana plug in both end, is much easier to adjust them with the banana then has to take out one by one in the wire. Plus it look better.

Monoprice has these at $0.94 / pair regardless of quantity if anyone is interested. This is a nice deal.

This is where I got my plugs. Just remember folks... You'll need 1 pair of plugs PER connection. So 10 pairs for a 5.1 setup. 5 pairs for your AVR and 5 for your R\C\L\SR\SL speakers. You do not need a banana plug for your sub, that's a different cable entirely.

Unless the sub only has speaker level inputs.

BTW that is a really good price on the banana plugs. I paid $1.77 a pair back in February.
