Does anybody know who has the US and international rights for this?
Its was MGM in the US so its either MGM/UA or Warners. A friend of mine want to buy Blu Rays of every film that Billy Wilder was involved in but this appears to be rather elusive. I know there is a DVD release in Spain but I suspect it is a bootleg. |

It's a head scratcher why this hasn't gotten a proper release at all. I saw it a long time ago on cable and haven't found a good version since. Outside of tracking down the random European DVD your options for physical media are VHS and CED. Ridiculous fate for Wilder's last film even if it's reputation isn't the greatest.

The Spanish DVD is watchable, but nothing more. Sadly that's more than can be said for the film, which is truly dreadful. I prefer to think of Fedora as Wilder's last film. The VHS releases were from Turner and then Warner, I posted photos in the Billy Wilder thread. My only guess is that the rights MGM negotiated back in 1981 may have lapsed at some point, and it may no longer be a Warner title. Otherwise I would think they'd have at least done a Warner Archive DVD. |
