Default Halloween/Dawn of the Dead PQ?

Is anyone else wondering how good the picture quality of Anchor Bay/Starz first releases will turn out? I'm sort of worried they won't be very good because they're so old or can someone tell me that I'm wrong because I'm really hoping these releases will turn out good because I want to get them Oct. 2nd!

I have them both pre-ordered also, along with Evil Dead II.

I am wondering the same thing too! However, from what some people are saying about Halloween in HD on the TV, it's really very very good! So there's hope that at least Halloween will be great.

As for Dawn, I've read plenty of reviews of the ultimate edition set released on DVD some time back that say that the DVD quality is superb! So I don't there too much to worry about here either!

Now, Evil Dead II on the other hand...

I think if one of the titles out of the Anchor Bay releases on October 2nd is gona be not-so-good, itl be this one!

After I get the first Halloween I'm hoping they follow that one up with the 2nd. Most people don't like the 3rd one but Season of the Witch would find its way to my rack.

Unfortunately, Halloween II is distributed by Universal throughout the world, so if it does come out, it't be HD DVD only (if of course this war isn't over by then!)

Believe me, no one's disappointed about that more than me haha!

Same goes for Season Of The Witch, but that certainly won't be going anywhere near my collection! In fact, the first two are the only Halloween's I'l watch over and over and therefore the only one's I'l buy! (Well, except for Rob Zombie's later on too!)

A movie being "old" doesn't mean it'll look bad.

I've seen decades old films that look as fine as new ones.

Depends on the physical state of the film elements, the original photography, and which film element they use in the transfer and the care they take on the transfer.

We'll see how these fare soon!
