No interest in transformers for me. Spidey Trilogy I have on pre-order and I will be getting POTC 3.

I would prefer transformers over spider-man 3 since in comparison to the other two I was disappointed and same for pirates although I will be picking up the box sets 4 both. and I took my little sister to see shrek 3 and I fell aslp...lol. And she thought the previous ones were better as well. (our opinions)

But have there been official HD-DVD release dates for these movies?? I just heard the announcement that they were coming to the lesser format but not when.

I wasn't a big fan of shrek the 3rd but it was big in the box office so i expect it to sell alot of movies. I don't think it will sell huge amounts because I don't think that most mommies have HD-dvd of bluray players in their home.

I still think it will sell bad. Esp on HD DVD. A lot of people saw it in the theater and most thought it was bad. At least according to everyone I know that saw it and what I read online about it.

transformers: blu-ray will put up Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill 1 & 2

shrek 3: ive i was the BDA id move around Cars to match up with this movie. seriously Cars will draw more people than Shrek. id also throw a more "macho" movie such as Sin City up against it, so while HD DVD plays to the kiddies, blu-ray plays to the kiddies and the adults. or another idea that would be really cool is if they threw out a less popular disney classic such as the sword in the stone that week. think about all the baby boomers who havn't seen that movie in for so long and hear its coming out, they might just get a little more inquisitive to what blu-ray is.

That would be a good one. BDA should work with Studios and plan a strategic release of movies. I think if done right we could easily counter HD DVD every week this year.

Pirates 3 on Blu-ray is going to outsell The Bourne Ultimatum, Shrek 3 and Transformers on HD DVD altogether. We could see Pirates 3 move 500,000 copies at Christmastime in a matter of 2-3 weeks.

Spidey 3, Ratatouille, Die Hard 4, Simpsons Movie and Silver Surfer will all just be pounding on top of that.

I hate to say this but I though Spiderman 3 sucked and I thought Transformers was one of the best action movies this year.

Don't worry I am picking up Transformers in SD and the same day I will pick up Casino Royal and Black Hawk Down.

Would be nice but not likely to happen. Transformers' hype is way fresher than PotC3's so yeah.. Besides, everyone I know who's seen Transformers got their minds pretty much set that it's the best movie of the year.

IMO, it's definitely the best eye candy of the year.

I am sorry to inform you, but when you combine all 3 movies (transformers, shrek 3 and bourne ultimatum VS. pirates 3 alone.) would definitely not be able to compete all 3 movies. Transformers alone is a fresh new start of a classic comic/cartoon would beat pirates 3. unfortunately although i love pirates of caribbean 3 was a major disappointment. however, if you put it this way spidey 3 and pirates 3, then i would agree with you. i think both films will definitely be a competition against all 3 hddud's exclusive releases.
