It seems many people are upset over this, but when you really look at it, PG-13 seems well suited. It's robot violence. Unless the robot punches a hole in someones stomach or something crazy like that, then it should be R. Terminator 2 could have probably got a close PG-13 rating if it wasn't for a couple of one-on-one violent scenes. So, let's not all get upset yet until we see the finshed project.

Also, I'm not expecting much since it's the director's of Charlies Angels 2.

Bah don't say this Speilberg and Lucas were king of the 80's and they destroy pretty much anything they produce together (Indy) or Alone (Star Wars)

The question is how much can a director screw up a film with so much potential?

Consider the cast-Christian Bale, Helena Bonham Carter, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Worthington and the shooting script is from Christopher Nolan's brother (who co-wrote The Dark Knight and The Prestige).

So far the trailers and TV spots look phenomenal. As far as the PG-13 rating goes, I suspect the scenes shown in the trailer where Skynet mass murders people will be edited down and we'll be missing Moon Bloodgood's nude scene. But we'll get that back in the unrated blu-ray in a few months.

I don't see why the PG-13 rating is such a big deal. I'm a giant fan of both Terminator & T2 (T3 not so much) but I have to say, from the footage I've seen from trailers & stuff, Salvation is looking great. I do have my doubts thanks to McG being director but it looks like he has captured the tone of the Terminator franchise and the footage does look awesome.

Plus the PG-13 rating can get away with a lot these days. Look at The Dark Knight, the violence in it is absolutely vicious and Joker's antics are psychotic so PG-13 can do some pretty hardcore stuff. (also note Casino Royale / Bourne franchise on how the PG-13 rating is used to its' fullest)

All in all, I will be seeing Terminator: Salvation with high expectations and if McG can put it off, I will be super impressed and I'm not bother about the rating.
