Default Blu-ray on PC question?

I've built a PC with a Blu-Ray drive. I don't yet have software to play Blu-Ray movies, but I'd thought that I'd be able to browse the contents of a Blu-Ray disc. This isn't the case (the computer shows nothing on the disc), so I'm left wondering if this is normal behavior or if I've got a bad drive.

Can anyone here enlighten me?

You gonna need CyberLink’s InstantBurn, Nero’s InCD, etc....in order to view the content of a BD ~~

So I won't be able to view the files with out one of those? Cool - that's better than having a bad drive!

Yup, unless you're having Windows Vista, it can view the Blu ray disc files directly ~~

Not Vista at the moment - running XP. I guess I'll have to get with it and get some Blu-Rays software soon! Thanks for the info!

Well, for me, I got myself a Lite On DH401S BD ROM, it was the cheapest one in the market when I bought it, so far it's been working smoothly without any issues.
