i have an old 480p projector. i am looking at upgrading to either a high quality 720p or a decent 1080p projector. My budget is around $2000, preferably below. It will be used almost entirely for movie watching, except my brother does HD video editing and will use it for presentations from time to time. I don't know enough about projection and i'm not sure where to start. I already have a screen, 16:9. if there is any more info you need just ask. I know my blu-brothers can help, thanks

You can get a high quality 720p projector for around $1000, many of which are 1080i capable. You might even catch a sale and get your projector for $700-$800 or so.
With a budget of $2000, you should have a decent selection of entry level 1080p projectors. Try projectorcentral.com or projectorpeople.com. Those two sites should be helpful in finding a projector. |

I'm narrowing down my search now. I will most likely go with the Sanyo Z3000.
The projectorpeople site has a 1080p shootout in it's blog area, and pretty much say these three were the winners: Epson Home Cinema 6500 UB Sanyo PLV-Z3000 Panasonic PT-AE3000U All seem to be around $2200-2500. They all have the 120hz motion which I like. I didn't pull the trigger on the Sanyo before April 30th, and now I don't see the $400 mail-in rebate anymore (Would have made it about $2000) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Without that rebate, I may go with the Panny Last edited by Grevlin; 05-02-2009 at 02:35 PM. |

Excellent condition, beautiful picture, was professionally calibrated, no problems at all. low hours of use. only one year old, has 36 month warranty, plus a MACK four year additional warranty which includes a free bulb replacement. Thats "SEVEN" years of warranty which cost me an additional $325.00 for it. Warranty "is" transferable as well. have original box, remote, and all paperwork. asking $1650.00. Excellent projector for an excellent price! PM me if interested. Phil |
