After we got The Office, I was hoping this would be next. This is great news.

Cheaper would be cool, but Universal would be better quality... but, you know...



It might be Mill Creek though, some of the other stuff from them says the studio that owns the show itself instead of who is actually releasing the set. 12 Monkeys, 30 Rock, Eureka, The Mindy Project, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt all say USHE for example. If from Universal, I wonder if this will be MOD or general, it's not on MovieZyng at the moment.

YES!!! Been hoping this would come soon after The Office announcement, but I feel like with TV on blu ray it's never a for sure thing. Will definitely be getting it. I hope it comes with the deleted scenes and other extras.

Anyway, thanks for spotting this, OP. I was just about to re-watch the series on DVD. Guess I'll wait a month and watch it in HD instead.

I'd figure they're just porting over the DVD release. I mean, even the Mill Creek Universal releases have had pretty much all the extras. And if Mill Creek can get the extras included, Uni would almost certainly do it themselves.

All Mill Creek’s releases planned for the following month already have specs and cover art available so it’s unlikely this is a Mill Creek release.

Yeah, the quick turnaround almost screams Uni MoD.

Well, that or VEI, but I would hope Universal wouldn't let VEI release, well, anything.

Universal would NEVER license out a title this high profile to a label like Mill Creek.

Yes I know they licensed out Community and 30 Rock to them but those honestly aren't nearly as high profile as The Office and Parks and Recreation though.

Also I will say Parks and Recreation on streaming is a mess regarding the extended versions of the episodes. I understand that both the broadcast and extended versions aren't included but for some of them they went with extended and others the broadcast versions for streaming. I hope both versions of all those episodes are included in this set like they were with the DVD sets years ago.

If it's anything like the Office set I seem to remember that had the extended eps in SD?

Or maybe I'm thinking of the Community set.

The Office had the extended episodes in HD.

Community is Sony anyway. Though I'm surprised Sony never did it themselves.

One thing I know is a couple of scenes in certain Office episodes were removed after the original broadcasts like the original Halloween cold open for Koi Pond and the entire subplot from The Merger involving Kevin and his paper shredder (the interesting thing is the official YT channel for the show has these scenes in a couple of videos).

Not sure exactly why the paper shredder subplot or the Halloween cold open were removed on the DVD releases but it is annoying nonetheless, especially considering the opening that replaced the Halloween one in Koi Pond is not nearly as funny (though I do know that this scene was removed cause of minor controversy)

Also I totally forgot about Community being Sony cause it aired on NBC and almost all shows I've seen air there are Universal produced

NBC Thursday in the late 2000s will finally be represented on Blu-ray. That's awesome.
