Ah okay thanks. So Canadian probably about $60-$70 above the standard Switch. I suppose it’ll retail for about $459.99 here in Canada.

Yeah, I’m not sure an 0.8in bigger, 720p OLED display, and an Ethernet port is worth $50 more for a console that is 4 years old with absolutely no actual graphics upgrade of any kind. The 32gb bump is nice but you’re still going to need an external storage card given how little that still is for games nowadays, so that ‘upgrade’ is practically useless.

If anything they should sell this one for $300 and the other (older one) at $250.

Will they be doing anything to actually give people a chance to buy one or will this be another console lost to scalpers?

You could probably buy 3 of these with the money you get from selling your PS5.

As a non-switch owner who has some interest in owning one, the switch lite still seems like the better "bridge" deal if you're mostly interested in handheld play. What's the point of OLED if it's still 720P? You think you're getting caviar but really just got escargot instead.

I'll pass. No 4k when docked is a deal breaker. I rarely play handheld. The OLED screen is great for those who will be buying their first Switch.

Should at least be 1080P when undocked and 4K upconverted when docked, Ill pass on this as I am sure many others will as well.

Pretty sure most Switch games are native 720p. Also, OLED screens are beautiful!

I’m sure ppl will still go nuts for this and even if I wanted one I wouldn’t be able to find it w/o some ridiculous markup.

Nintendtards went nuts over cardboard. There's literally nothing that company could put out that the mindless automatons wouldn't go nuts over.

And I'm sorry but IMO, OLED or not, going with a bigger screen at the same pitiful 720p resolution is a downgrade. Increasing screen real-estate without increasing resolution only dilutes the image quality.

I might still get this but I’m also keeping my current V2 Switch. I just use the OLED for the house & my current one for travel.

Tbh, I’ve got a Switch lite. I was going to trade it out for the docked version, which I bought, and I haven’t even opened the box. I would rather have the OLED version, but even if I could track one down in October I’d have 2 Switches to sell and that sounds like a pain. Not to mention the Switch Pro will still probably launch w/ BotW 2 in March

Don't believe the marketing. The cardboard didn't sell well, that's why they stopped making them.

And with this here, it would be nice if they actually fixed the bad Nvidia hardware design instead of tacking on other stuff.

Like for example the Switch dock scratching the Switch up.
Or the drift issues with all controller types.

Quality control has gone out of the window since Iwata died.

The Nvidia hardware is not powerful enough for 1080p, just like the PS3 was not powerful enough for 1080p, it wasn't even powerful enough for 720p, most games on PS3 were sub 720p.

Having a 1080p screen with 720p content doesn't really make sense.

The Switch itself is a downgrade in all sorts of ways when compared to the 3DS, like for example Streetpass gone. I have never seen anyone carrying a Switch around, but I have gotten all sorts of Streetpasses.

I don't even understand why you would make it EVEN bigger, when it's already too big to actually be portable. What's the point of that?
I like having my 3DS with me because it's tiny in size. The Switch not so much. It stays at home.

since the only 'exclusive' benefit of this model is the screen, I think an OLED lite, with less bezels would've made more sense than this

I think it's portable but then again the screen is about the same size as my phablet phone screen. As far as a $350 "upgrade" on my Switch Lite?

Why the hell would you do that. Buy the actual classic physical board game, no need for any electronics at all. No battery involved. Doesn't stop working after a few hours because the battery ran out.

Seriously.
That's worse than Wii U marketing.

Nintendo gonna Nintendo. Having a handheld only, docked only and hybrid makes too much sense for them.

I suspect this is just a stop-gap (due to the current microchip shortage), and that a real "Pro" model is still coming at some point. I'll stick with my Switch Lite for now, and wait and see what happens.
