Default VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS (1965) coming to Blu-ray!

Finally, after years of requests, Kino Lorber has announced a new 2K scan for this great Bert I. Gordon potboiler. Great cast includes many young Hollywood personalities, some who became famous and others who didn't.

Back in the 1980's, there was a local Seattle film series called "Great Books for Children." Films shown included TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and NATIONAL VELVET, among others. For some reason, VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS was also shown. I can only imagine the parents in the audience cringing when Johnny Crawford dangles from the brazier of giantess Joy Harmon (who was well proportioned even at her regular size).

Time to get into a skimpy outfit and dance in slow motion for four minutes.

* knows it's not the version used in "Village of the Giants" but it's better to dance to.

It's about damn time! I absolutely adore this film and the great Jack Nitzsche score. Thank you, Kino. Now, if only Gordon's best film and one of my two holiest grail titles, Burned at the Stake/The Coming, would at long last get the release it deserves...

Hilarious. Well, the film is a classic that you never forget. So innocent yet filled with debauchery at the same time.

Ha ha, yeah, from the opening mud fight to the bra ride and the dancing giant ducks...
...this film is about as wacky as they get. I have been a huge fan since seeing this on Tv as a kid. I think it may have led to my lifelong obsession with well endowed, blue eyed blondes....

I know, I know, that's from Cool Hand Luke but I saw that film on Tv at around the same time....

This film is a lot of fun. It's years since I've seen so I'm tempted to purchase it.

Thanks for sharing! That is very cool.
I had no idea Mattel did a tie in with this film. Well, I was only 4 years old when the film came out. I honestly don't remember how old I was when I first saw it on television but if I had to guess, I would say between 8 and 10. I wish I had those dolls for my office where I keep my movies although I know there is no way I could keep them safe from my granddaughters

The punchline on the giant ducks is actually funny, unlike most of the film’s attempts at humor.

The widescreen version of VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS aired once on TCM. The showing was actually hosted by Robert Osborne, who made some charitable comments about the film.

Using that image for their promotion was smart. It probably put more butts in seats.
