Well they are already behind the big N now, and I wouldn't be surprised if Sony come in and overtake them by April 08.

Man, M$ is a joke.

"What's a zune?" I never see those things, ever! I only ever see 90% ipods, 10% other 3rd party players. I see more portable CD players than I have seen people using zunes.

The PS3 is making headway on the 360, I will laugh at the M$ camp when they see their precious little toy pc get overtaken, again, by Sony AS WELL as Nintendo.

You guys are forgetting the behemoth that is less than a month away: Halo 3. This will be a boost to hardware sales. All the teenagers who still waste their time playing Halo 2 have probably been cutting back on their spending on drugs and alcohol over the past couple of months to prepare for a 360 purchase along with Halo 3.

I think that I am literally the only 360 owner in the US who is not interested in "finishing the joke" with Halo 3.

I'll be honest, I didn't read the article but I have seen some factual figures on worldwide sales of all three consoles since each's inception. The Wii just passed the 360 with both around ten million each, and the PS3 was way behind and hadn't even passed four million, so don't think too highly of Sony.

I don't think we'll see a significant spike in sales of the 360 in September. The majority of Halo fans, from what I've seen, bought in when the open beta came out or when they pre-ordered it.

If Apple starts to implement blu-ray drives in their line of computers, the war will be over!

I plan to wait IF I EVER buy it. It will be out on pc eventually and if not.. who cares?
I am not a fan of 1st person shooters, I suck at them usually. I have only played it twice, and although it was fun, there was nothing special that drew my attention.

Sure it will sell well, but it is only 1 event. The PS3 has many of those coming out (MGS4, FFXIII, etc...) and might temporarily boost sales, but I doubt it will make a huge difference in the end. The PS3 is gaining ground without the really big hits, and the Wii is already light-years beyond it in projected sales figures.

The 360 is way behind the Wii in that aspect, since it was popular from the get go. The PS3 and the 360 are almost identical. The PS3 is only slightly behind the 360 due to the higher price.

However if you include the price of the HD-DVD add on, the internal 20 GB HDD, and WiFi access, the cheapest 360 is more expensive than the most expensive PS3. Seriously. Plus M$ is loosing more money on the 360 than Sony is from the PS3... M$ is in a very bad place and is trying to make everything look good and peachy by spreading misleading figures and FUD.

The PS3 passed 4 million sold back in May according to Sony, and they're currently at over 6 million shipped.

The PS3 is about to pass 5m worldwide, it should do in the next couple of weeks. Look for the announcement at Tokyo Game Show in September.

nintendo will wipe out soon enough since all they make is mario, metroid and zelda.... they dont really do anything new except put those 3 playing soccer or football

... it will deff be sony and microsoft going at it .

DONT OWN A 360, if i play any games like that, i have felt they are best played on a computer

Microsoft says they have pre-sold over 1 million halo 3 games. They said they expect to make 150 million in the first day alone.

And you are forgetting FF13 and MGS4. MGS4 alone will have an incredible effect on PS3 sales worldwide. Halo is just an NA thing.

Anyone who has seen the MGS4 gameplay demo that it has the most impressive gameplay of any shooter/tactical shooter/stealth game ever.

Microsoft has shipped 10million units, but that doesnt mean they've sold nearly that many.

Besides sooner or later people will start to realize that a product with a 33% failure rate isnt a good investment.
