Gaumont do not code their discs. I will, however, make sure to provide reviews for Nikita and Leon and confirm in this thread before the reviews are published so everyone could order safely.

(Unless there are specific requests for The Fifth Element, I don't plan on covering it for our site).

How can you release a blu-ray titles with a 5.0 audio when DVD releases of the same titles all over the world have 5.1 DD audio

I juste hope the PQ will make things right

PS: I won't be against a review of the fifth element Pro-B as I didn't get the previous blu-ray releases to get sure this new one isn't better. Anyway if I'm the only one interested in this one I'll do without it and just check what I can find on other sites

Thanks for the update anyway Pro-B

Thanks for the update. I would have totally picked this up if it were DTS HD MA.

Any word on the extras?

Since I dont have an amp that supports HD-MA I might get the French release of Leon. Love that cover art!

What was the original language of Leon - French or English? And any word on forced subs or not?

Which makes sense since most of the cast is English/American.

According to this website where you can find screenshots of the three Besson/Gaumont French blu-ray releases, there won't be any English subs on the movies. There will be, however, the option to choose between a French subtitled version of the movies or a version without subs (which means no forced subs):

Nop, that's what is written in the website but when you look closely at the menu screenshot it is clearly written : "Version originale anglaise 5.1 DTS HD HIGH RESOLUTION" ... I guess the website made a mistake

One other question - is ALL the dialogue in English in the original version, or is there also French dialogue that is subbed?

I ask, because as a French release it is unlikely that any French dialogue would receive subtitles if you chose the English soundtrack. You would have to turn the full English subtitles option on, which would result in subtitles for every bit of dialogue, both English and French.

As far as I remember, I don't think there's any part in French. Maybe Jean Reno says a couple of French words, but I can't remember, sorry.

He does not utter a word of French.

And we will have reviews for the two films (not sure about Fifth Element yet) so that all questions pertaining to the audio/video treatment are answered.
