dvd upscale vs receiver upscale

Hi I want to know if I have an upconversion dvd and a receiver that upscales, do I keep both on or is it better to turn off one of the two, thanks

I could be wrong, but I would assume that if you feed a signal from an upscaling player into your reciever, the reciever shouldn't touch it since it will already be scaled to "HD" resolution. It should just pass it on directly.

Now, if your player only upscales to 720p and your reciever upscales to 1080i or 1080p, then your video would be touched twice.
