This is a pleasant surprise. I've yet to see this film but have wanted to for a while, especially because it features a very early role for Richard Conte.

Great sounding extras, too, especially the Norman Lloyd material. I'm in!

Looks like a good re-release, even if that cover is photoshopped to within an inch of its life. My goodness.

I assumed this was a very recent film, just from glancing at that cover art. Woof.

Yeah, unfortunately. It also oddly gives Normal Lloyd first billing when Dana Andrews was first billed on all theatrical posters. That's one thing I love about Kino and WAC— they use original poster art.

Just finished watching the dvd of this, fine semi-existential war film. Not big on is having the vocal songs, but I suppose it was 1945. One wonders if the order final score could be an alt track, if course the original score may not have been recorded for those parts, don’t know. I normally don’t notice goofs, but would be nice if they corrected on the upcoming blu, the very obvious shadow of a mike on a tree at 1:33:46. Especially as it’s right in the middle of the screen

Interesting, Norman Lloyd lived to age 106 and was still playing tennis at age 99

I've always watched this lousy looking movie, hoping that it would someday be restored. It's a movie I've always liked.

I have a sinking feeling...Repeat Performance, which I pre-ordered on Flicker Alley is saying February 11 on Amazon (but January 24 still on Flicker Alley). Might be a larger backorder issue.

Still showing as releasing tomorrow (Jan 18th) on Amazon.ca, as well as on this site. Just checked my Amazon.ca pre-order and its now showing arriving on Thursday (Jan 20th) via Prime 2-day delivery.

Always remembered this one fondly from having seen it years ago. Mixed Amazon.ca reviews due more to the age of the reviewers than the technical attributes, but this one, from 'appell8', probably says it best.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Evocation of WWII Rifle Company Reality Ever Shot

"The best review I can give this is to pass along my Dad's, who has always thought this the best work Hollywood ever did on the life he lived in 1944-45. Dad went ashore as a 2nd Lt. from Texas A&M at Utah Beach on D+40, latched onto a slot in the 47th Infantry, 9th Division, and fought through the bocage, Operation Cobra, the Falaise Gap, breakout and pursuit through France and Belgium, the Huertgen Forest, the Frenzerburg, the Northern shoulder of the Bulge, and was breaking out of the Remagen bridgehead when he was wounded in March of 1945. He says that "Walk" captures the sense of confusion, of the ratio of boredom to adrenaline, of beauty and humor to random death and pure human stupidity, just about right. Almost the only other WWII film I have heard him comment on favorably was "Saving Private Ryan." "Walk" is excellent filmaking in its own right, as well as the best insight Hollywood is likely ever to offer on the day-to-day reality of WWII ETO rifle company combat."

Yep, came in Thursday morning, Jan. 20th as promised. Watched it again the same night and thoroughly enjoyed it once again. Just checked the Amazon.ca website and they're still showing it available but just 7 in stock with more on the way. The point is pretty much moot in any case since the state-side release is now just four days away. Why the difference in the release dates? Beyond my pay-grade...

I preordered on Amazon on 22 November 21. Was given a 8 February 22 deliver date but now it's been changed to 9 February 22. Go figure.

I saw it once when I was either in high school or college and it was aired on TV, either on Miami's PBS station - WPBT Channel 2 - or the then-independent station WCIX (Channel Six), which is now a CBS affiliate and known (due to a change in the dial that occurred in the 1990s) as WFOR.

I honestly don't remember the film well, but I was happy to order this yesterday since I am a WWII buff,

I'll get my copy on Friday, according to Amazon.

Got it today and decided to check the disc sizes on my laptop. The BD is dual layered with only 35 GB taken, while the special features DVD is 7 GB. They could have easily fit the standard def bonus material on the BD, but I guess they wanted really bad to market it as a "2 DISC COLLECTOR'S EDITION"!

Ugh, yellow subtitles, disgusting! What do these blu-ray producers not understand about the black and white film watching experience, you might as well hold up a neon sign in front of the tv, gross. Well, I’ll hope for another region to release it differently. At the very least give us a menu choice to choice between black or white subs
