Default Rumble in the Bronx: Will it make it to blu?

Just want to get your guy's opinions on if you think RITB will ever make it to blu, or any other popular martial arts movies for that matter? And if it does, I hope they use the original uncut version because the dubbing is pretty bad on the New Line release and that is just a horrible way to watch it.

I have not seen many martial arts films on blu yet, but I could be just not looking in the right places.

I just watched this today. I would love to see any of Jackie Chan's older films on Blu-ray.

To tell you the truth, Rumble in the Bronx was the movie that first introduced me to Jackie Chan. And after I saw his breakthrough performance in the movie, I started watching some of his older films as well, including Police Story 1 and 2, and Drunken Master. And since Rumble in the Bronx became the surprise box office hit of 1996, it made the Western Hemisphere sit up and take notice of an exceptional talent they had long overlooked throughout the years in the form of Jackie Chan. I, too, hope to see Rumble in the Bronx on Blu-ray one day!

Rumble in the Bronx should be in Blu. I am sure that it will be released fairly soon.

I skimmed the first post and then read the second one thinking "what does Jackie Chan have to do with this movie". The entire time I am thinking of "The Bronx is Burning" movie about the Yankees...lol

If it does come to BR, hopefully, we'll get the uncut version, with original audio, and a decent set of English subtitles!

As the US / Europe cut makes no sense story wise, and the uncut version has the worst picture quality on DVD, with awful English subs.

I'm surprised people would want this on Blu-ray. I remember seeing about 50 copies of the DVD in the $5 bin at Walmart for months.

I thought this one was just ok. Couldn't get by the Vancouver mountains being in "The Bronx".
SuperCop was better i think.

The dvd edition was re-mastered in HD, so an acceptable master does exist.

*bump*

You mean this one?

http://dddhouse.com/v3/product_detai...ProductID=1921

Its a shame there's no english subs Sure I know most of the script (in dub) but it'd seem weird to watch it uncut that way. Also I really wish HKL would just buy the licence off Miramax and give it the proper treatment it deserves! Rumble in the Bronx was also my first Jackie Chan movie

HKL also needs to get the licence for Jackie Chan's First Strike although it seems highly unlikely as they've gone really quiet now and haven't bothered reprinting

If this does get a blu-ray release, I'm expecting a Warner Brothers double feature blu-ray with First Strike. Then again, it could get paired up with Mr. Nice Guy as well.

If Warner Bros does release it then I'm sure it will still be in 4:3 with no extras

I think our only hope may be K&R to release it, I just know we're going to get butchered

There's a UK release of this on 11th June. But it's StudioCanal/Miramax so may well be region locked. But may be one worth looking out for if you have a region free player
