While a very good film I havent heard anything on this one.....I am not sure if this would get a release yet or not might be awhile before they decide to pull this one out of the vault....

EDIT: Looks like HBO owns the rights, so now I really wouldnt expect it for a long time:

Not sure where you're looking, but you can get a copy of A Bronx Tale on DVD at Half.com for $7.19.

I've been tempted to pull the trigger on the DVD version of this film from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I really don't buy DVD's any more though, so I thought I'd inject some life into this dead topic and see if anyone has heard anything. I'd really love to own a copy of this movie in HD, one of my all time favorites.

So, anything in the rumor mill?

Yeah, would love this on Blu too, though I'm not holding my breath. The one on Amazon is one of those burn on demand DVD's which I was looking at as well, though I'm not sure if it's anamorphic (the original pressed DVD wasn't).

+1. Same here, also one of the few DVDs I still have. I would love to see a BD release, but I am certainly not holding my breath.

There have been MUCH lesser candidates than A Bronx Tale that have gotten a Blu-ray release...

I would love HBO release this as well as "No Escape" w/ Ray Liotta, (one of my guilty pleasures on DVD) BOTH are OOP and non anamorphic. If not, HBO could let a company like Image release it for small "fee".

This is one of my favorite movies of all time... I don't understand why it's so rare, even on dvd. I heard they haven't released copies because the actor that played the older "C" from the movie shot a police officer in real life. I know it sounds like a silly reason, but why else would it be so hard to get, and hasn't been stocked in years on dvd? All the other classics (Casino, Goodfellas, Scarface, ETC) are so easy to get, A Bronx Tale has been hard to get for years. Who knows.

Amazon has it for $15.00 on DVD. It's back in print.

True, but that still doesn't mean anything as to this getting a release.

Ah, I didn't realize that an "Amazon Exclusive" was made. Maybe there is a chance for blu-ray
