Although I have an LG C9, I was curious to know for the CX if the Pixel Shifter can be turned off for each input or is it still an all or none deal?

I'm getting the 55 inch CX6LA when I move into my new house but I'm looking to get a Dolby Atmos Soundbar. What does everyone recommend for use with this TV? I ideally want something under £1000 as I'm already paying out £1200 for the TV lol.

I'm UK based as well.

Thanks in advance

thinking about buying a refurbished unit from Microcenter on Sunday... probably a 65 and maybe a 55 too. Would love to get a 77 for $2500 but there are none in my area and I don't want to be bothered trying to transport one from Denver back to IL.

They honored last week's price, so I bought a 55 and 65 and my friend bought a 65.

I am now the proud owner of 5 OLEDs. I shouldn't have bought the 55... would have been smarter to spend the extra $300 and get another 65.

It's clearly refurbed but the panel looks new (did a red screen test). The two 65s are pretty much new, as I expected when I saw the box. The only thing I noticed is mine didn't have the film over the screen, my friend's did.

How long can we expect LG to keep supporting the CX with firmware updates? One thing I'm hoping gets resolved is the freesync information display showing 120hz as 5.5hz. I realize it's been concluded that it's just a firmware bug, that we are indeed getting 120hz when it reads 5.5hz, but id really like that visual of the 120hz humming as I play video games on the Series X. I think the C1 fixed this. Anyone else bothered by this?

This is probably a dumb question, but I have a CX 65 and an LG SN8YG soundbar. I'm connecting a Panasonic 4K player and thought I would connect it to the soundbar via HDMI, which is already connected to the TV via eArc. How do I then select the right input on the TV so that it recognizes the player? Or do I need to change a setting on the soundbar? Or do I even need to do any of this and will get the same result just connecting the player directly to the TV?

You would need to connect the player directly to the TV and then output the audio through the e-Arc port to your soundbar. The eArc option only outputs audio and does not input or send a video signal through it to the TV.

Hello everyone

I am thinking of buying a new 4k OLED tv for around 900-1000 pounds, which would eb good for films and games, and a bit confused by the all the options , is getting a HDR10+ plus tv as opposed to just a HDR10 capable one important?

It seems that LG has some good options, like the CX series, but apparently no HDR10+?

Your mileage may vary, I suppose, but I currently own an LG C7 and have a CX on order and the lack of HDR 10+ was not something that I remotely cared about with either purchase. First of all, Dolby Vision is more common than HDR 10+ and the LG OLEDs do support Dolby Vision. Second of all, I don't notice any significant difference in quality between standard HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Both the TV itself and the Panasonic UHD player I use are able to do tone-mapping well.

Looks like Dolby Vision gaming has arrived on the Xbox Series X. Currently the Series X on the LG CX is recognizing compatability for Dolby Vision gaming in 60hz but not 120hz.

"The Dolby Vision feature is currently in testing & LG is working closely with its partners to support functionality (including 4K@120Hz) on its 2021 OLEDs soon. More details about models will be shared soon." - LG

Looks like those with the C1 should be getting a firmware update to enable DV @120hz. Lets hope those of us with the CX, or even a C9, also get this update.

I did a separate post but looking for anyone who has upgraded from a 55" B7 to a 2020/2021 55" model. I only really need for watching 4k UHD and looking for opinions if it's worth upgrading from what I have (keeping same screen size). Wondering if anyone has seen a big enough improvement to warrant the upgrade. Thanks.

Similar sort of situation here (65 B8). I've just recently looked at what's out there, as I'd like better motion handling and HDR10+ but the overall upgrades to things like brightness and stuff are quite small. The biggest differences come in at eye watering prices.

Fact is, I can't justify it, it's a lot of money to replace a TV that's still pretty damned fine. It's still just marginal improvements (and if/when I upgrade, I wouldn't replace with LG. I'd switch allegiances to Sony or Panasonic so I got HDR10+ as well).

Anyone had any issues with the TV going black mid-viewing and everything dropping out, like it does when you start content and it takes a second to switch to DV or some such.
Had the set since last May (5 year warranty so no issues there if it's a hardware fault) but have only seen this in the last couple of weeks.
Was just hoping someone else might have seen at this before I try and track down the issue, maybe heard of a firmware bug or something before I go crazy trying switching cables and inputs and devices. I thought it might be an issue with my new ATV4k (or the new cable I bought for it) but I've now seen it happen from a Panasonic 820 as well, mid way through a BD so no HDR involved and on a different input. I am using the ATV with eARC and sending disc soundtracks through the HomePods so I guess there could still be something with the ATV sending things off the rails?
Rewinding and going back over the same section of content doesn't trigger the same behaviour so it's just a really sporadic randomly occurring issue at the moment and that's soooo annoying to try and track down!

LG will be releasing a firmware update for the 2020 CX and GX series OLED TVs to support Dolby Vision gaming at 4K 120Hz

Anyone update their CX to 03.23.06? What was the result? Did anything break? A lot of people are complaining eARC broke, some are saying their brightness was diminished. Personally I don't use eARC but I am concerned about the brightness. With the release of the C1 there seems to be less and less analysis of the CX. I'm currently still rocking 03.21.18 and I'm mostly satisfied with it so I haven't updated. I do want the improvements that have been reported however, like VRR flickering fixes and VRR 20-120hz instead of 40-120hz. I'll probably not update until the firmware that brings DV@120hz but even then I'll have concerns about brightness and the like.

Experiencing absurd amounts of color banding on my CX when playing video games using the Xbox Series X that has me kind of regretting the purchase of an OLED. After tons of googling and reading every message board on the internet, it's apparently a known widespread issue among OLEDs. This depicts my issue perfectly:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_banding

I've messed with every setting on both the Xbox and the TV and nothing fixes it. It only happens in video games and it happens to every sky or anywhere where theres a bunch of the same color that varies in shades. Does anyone have this issue and were you able to do anything about it?

OLED colour bands are different I think. OLED colour banding is horizontal or vertical lines when it shows.

That sounds like there could be a mismatch between TV and console settings?

I have the CX model. Not sure if this was already discussed but apparently it can not handle Dolby Vision at 4K above 60Hz. The box for 60 is green on my XSX but at 120 its red. Not even certain about whether games will even be made 120 with DV, but on this model it will not work.

Edit: Just discovered LG already has an update coming that will fix this.

The quick access on my remote (assign buttons 1-8 to do something) for my CX, everything works just fine initially, but after a while all quick buttons that go to HDMI connections (like the PS5, for example) stop working. The button won't take me there anymore and holding the button down won't re-add it either. Ever heard of this problem?

Not sure if this is they right place to ask this question so forgive me . The last few days Ive noticed on my C9 that my greys and some light blacks started flashing or flickering . Nothing was changed in the settings or cable changes, it just started doing it a few days . I looked up some things online and seen it was a known issue but i didnt see a fix to the issue . I was wondering if the newer models have this issue as well ? The TV is going on 3 years in Jan, I just cant figure out why it never happened and all the sudden just started . It doesn't seem to happen on black and white movies like 1931 Dracula 4K , just on color movies
