Default High def commercials at AMC theaters

I went to see the new Halloween today at a AMC movie theater, well anyways before the start of the movie there was a commercial for HD DVD,well anyways a few people in the theater bood when the commercial came on.Then right after the commercial there was a commercial for the PS3 and then everyone cheered.Just that that was funny.Well anyways I thought the new Halloween was great and it was alot better then some of the crap sequels that they have done.I do hope Rob Zombie's Halloween will be released on Blu-Ray as I will defently buy.

Strange - I don't think I have ever heard people boo or cheer at commercials in a movie theater. Plus, since maybe 1% of the population is even buying movies in these formats, and maybe less than half of those would be upset enough at HD-DVD to actually boo during a commerical, the reaction is even more strange.

I've seen the commercials. Obviously if people are booing it, then there must be some type of mainstream word getting out on these formats. Either that or there just happened to be a bunch of HD-DVD haters in the same theater at the same time.

As for if it will come out on BD....it's an MGM/Dimension film, so yes if released day and date with the DVD we can expect exclusive BD goodness of this flick.

A while back we went and saw Ocean's 13. I liked it, but something occurred to me while I was watching it, and I wonder if any of you have had this thought. As I was watching the film, I realized that movies look better watching them at home now. I've got a PS3 (always with the latest firmware) and a Sony SXRD 55" with a 5.1 surround sound system and movies look and sound way better at home. Not to mention the fact that I can pause the movie, don't have to deal with knuckleheads or overpriced snacks...and I have a nice couch, I can put my feet up on the ottoman...sorry I started to ramble.

Anyone else think that watching movies at home now kicks tail over watching them at the theatre?

Same here... Call me old, but I am tired of teenagers talking through movies, crappy focus, sticky floors, etc....

Netflix, our PS3 and a projector are great for us. We can pause it if we want, dont have to stand in lines, and get pic quality that is totally fine for us.

I only go to the theater now when there is a movie that I absolutely want to see. This weekend I'm going to see Superbad which I hear amazingly funny.

Aside from those few movies a year (and I do stress FEW), I always rather sit on my comfy couch and watch in amazement the PQ of my small but growing amount of Blu-rays!

Definitely way better picture and sound quality and I don't have to deal with all these young kids texting, & talking on the phone! Some people got a damn nerve at the theater and should get their @$$e$ banned!

Man, I wish I could have been in that situation in a movie theater. That would have been funny as hell!
But here's my question: why would a commercial for HD-DUD appear at an AMC theater? I thought AMCs are owned by Sony???

You're not alone, I like movies at home better too. Picture and sound that no theater can match. I do still like going to the theater as well though. I'm not bothered by people in the audience that make noise because I have no problem making them shut their face. =P

Well, with picture and sound quality better at home, I kind of feel like I'm paying for the movie twice, if I see it in the theatre and then buy the blu-ray. So more and more I just wait for the blu-ray.

I have seen these commercials before at my local theater and I also booed when they showed that junk on the screen. The person behind me thought it was funny

Booing that in the theater shows spirit, but it is also a bit childish.

I agree. And why the hell would anyone bring an infant to a movie? Babysitters, anyone?
